Honestly the more i think about it i don't think there is much of a difference at all even if you don't skip it

Might as well add a update here. I have some more movement optimizations for y'all. i would like to thank Seelen for informing me about the first one long ago. For the first one where i stand is consistent enough but there is probably a better setup to hit both switches. Now you can get away with destroying 4 hey bales before getting scolded then you can feed the last to Oppa. Oh Zuko, you can actually skip a phase by doing 3 airblasts on a chain then getting that meter back up and taking out two chains at the same time as shown in the video, also there was so much time i went and swagged for both chains down to 1 health which does not matter as the health resets when a chain breaks i think, but this does put in in phase 2 move set and health meter meaning he won't attack as much and he would fall through a glitched grate when you beat him. But as you notice it leaves a explosive barrel up that does not fall down, however i don't know if that actually does anything i thought it looked cool so i added it lol. The rest is explanatory mostly the using barrels on downed enemies for the finishing blow as this is way early in the game, so it is faster to do that instead of waiting for them to get up.

And for the glider part at before the end i found out that you can just squeeze through a gap by moving somewhat at a angle which is probably not that much faster than the previous one, but i still recommend destroying the first two as dying there is annoying as you have to watch the cutscene of entering the room again. Now the part at the end is funny as as soon as that note pops up you don't have to wait just climb and jump and you get the orb which is faster than waiting.

You could play Diablo 1 not sure how optimized it is but it is under the half hour mark for all of the classes the more you play the game. Now with PC games it is really hard to find a short game 30min or lower that is not optimized especially the more people running it however games around an hour and some odd minutes are considered pretty short for Speedrunning standards but again when you get to 30min and below thats when games start to get pretty optimized really fast. You could also check out Mirror's Edge as the top 47 runs are in the low 30's in terms of time and around 40min if you stay inbounds.

It would help if you actually listed what you are looking for in a game or what interests you otherwise people don't know how to respond to this and just gives you general game recommendations that they themselves like that you may not or is not on a leaderboard here because no one runs it yet. But here are some i recommend based off of my taste

Anima: Gate of Memories Anime: Gate of Memories the nameless Chronicles Rune Factory 4 Special Harvest Moon Light of Hope Story of Seasons: Friends of mineral town Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town Resident Evil 6 Resident Evil 0 Animal Crossing: New Horizons The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Troll and I (NOTE: pretty boring and bland game overall but if you have 56min to spare minimum might as well considering it came with a lot of switches) Shining Resonance Refrain (NOTE: a example of a game not yet on a leaderboard till someone requests and do a run of it) Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age Xenoblade Chronicles 2

These minus Breath of the wild i have played on the Switch and Breath of the wild i played on the Wii U and both of the Anima games are Souls like in nature so if you are not a fan of the souls series you might not like that as it is difficult even on easy and even if you fully upgrade everything. Also for the Series like Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon if there is no story mode the categories are usually split up into marriageable candidates including secret and special ones that usually require a lot just to marry so aside from the fact that unless you look up all bachelors and bachelorettes people don't really know those characters exist as their heart meter is usually hidden just like the people you can't marry

Actually it is not that hard if you have to connect your capture card to your Switch if it is in docked mode as all you have to do is connect it via HDMI cable. You could even use a simple 1x2 HDMI splitter if you desired to split the signal of the docked Switch to the capture card and your TV that way you can just use OBS to record the game. You need about 3 or 4 HDMI cables for this set up and i say 4 because this set up requires a 2nd monitor as in another TV. Now yes i know the Laptop would act as the 2nd monitor to actually record or stream the gameplay but this was just me saying how easy it could be done for a Desktop just a bit more investment with money. And with the capture card that was linked earlier basically having a built in splitter it is even easier.

Or alternately you could just use two HDMI cables the input going into your capture card and output going into your laptop but i do not recommend as there is usually a lag delay of what is shown when actually playing it through OBS like that usually 3 seconds of a delay but some people do it as either A) they don't want to spend much money or B ) they don't have much to spare

Granted you still need 3 cables to do this with a Desktop but this bypasses a 2nd monitor and a splitter altogether and HDMI cables these days are actually very easy to come by as usually they come with consoles and capture cards unless we are talking about DS capture cards but that is a different topic altogether. Oh and any capture card even old ones as long as they have the appropriate ports like a HDMI one can capture Switch games or even PS4/5/Xbox ONE's/any new gen of consoles even if not advertised as again if it can capture gameplay and audio and stream it to your computer then you can use OBS to record it or stream it without having to buy a new capture card.

The video you could probably watch and learn from it but i also made a google doc that explains some of the more complex ones like getting 21 seconds on the Air gliding course. And i have played this game long enough to say that movement optimizations is the most important thing in this game and will lower your time significantly so without further adieu here is the google doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LKLarGz-5uH9zYhwUJLJRB2srP3ZSBsXHCepXBMUMUw/edit?usp=sharing

and here is the link to the video showing the movement in action and the video is only 3min 36sec long

Now i forgot to mention in the doc or video but if a cliff or edge is close enough Ang will jump to it no problem a example by what i mean is 17 seconds into the video and it does saves about 1-2 seconds of time the first time around early on in the run and about 6 seconds around 24 or so min into the run. And i am only making this because i want more people to run this game, also yes i know this is probably not the best optimization in movement but really with no one else working on it its the best we have for now

Call of duty black ops II has a first prestige category so it does not have to be for a story mode alone when talking about shooters granted it is about the time of Final fantasy 10 on PS2 10 to 11 hours long if you are good. Also OBS is usually the best to have as it works with just about any other capture device and makes them better plus you can use it to record separate windows so it is easy to set up Livesplit to appear in the recording even when minimized and with the universal settings in Livesplit you can do splits start and stop the timer with it minimized with a press of a assigned key. Best part OBS and Livesplit is free which is one of the reasons why they are arguably the best.

Bathroom breaks should not really be a concern unless the game is near 10 hours long like Final fantasy 10 for example or near 20 hours long like the Nemesis speedrun in Final fantisy 10. Also giving the benefit of the doubt the majority of people can go around 6 to 9 hours without having to use the toilet and this is of course assuming that they don't have bladder problems, however 6-8 hours is the usual work day i think depending on the job but from what i have seen usually 6 hours. However it is up to you but a toilet break feature could end up being exploitable due to glitches and or other in game mechanics as speedrunners will find that out and there is really not much you can hide from a speedrunner they will find glitches and stuff that not even the devs and or play testers would have caught in the limited time of testing a good example is Ocarina of time for the N64.

Also if someone wanted to cheat they would find a way to cheat even if they have the skills to beat the game normally and get first place. And a lot of times it takes more effort to cheat a convincing run than it would to actually do a run. Even more effort to do it while live streaming yet it is still possible and there are people that will do it despite it being easier and less effort to not cheat, and again no matter how strict a rule set is there are still ways to cheat without getting caught it would just take more effort like knowing the game in and out and some people would do it just because they like the challenge. Now before you say yes you can deter cheating all you want but you can not stop it completely as there will always be people that loves a challenge that should really spend their time in quantum physics instead of cheating a speedrun as they are really smart if they are convincing cheated runs to the point that not even the best cheater could tell if it is cheated.

And the cheating really depends on the game that is being cheated and the rules of the game as you can't cheat if you don't know the rules and this is mostly true when you are first learning a card game and a friend teaches you but in a competition like speedrun leader boards there are usually rules layed out. And ima stop here before i accidentally start up a cheating discussion.

Apparently i find myself playing a lot of Sudoku and for hours on end as i like stuff that makes my brain have to think, though there are times to where i think about something too much and actually over think the simple things a lot.

My name is really a inside joke and most people honestly don't know how to read it as the 2nd T is silent and the Z makes a zzzz sound not a lower case S sound. Though i do have other titles that i could have gone by though i figured that they would not have been suitable

I am definitely sure it will help thanks for the reply. And one day i am sure i might get good enough to do a 100% run and if i don't then well this mini game beat me as i can get the quiver but not the heart container XD. And since i have been stuck on this mini game for quite a bit as in 4 or 5 months i noticed that the girl was showing up around 32 seconds when half would be 35 seconds.

Georgia, USAHolyJesusTiTz5 years ago

So is there any trick to get the score of 2000 in that mini game for the heart container? my highest score was 1750 and i can consistently get 1500 yet you need at least a score of 2000 for the heart container unless there is some glitch i don't know about or extra heart containers in the game like in oot with the heart pieces. If i knew any runner that runs 100% for this game i would ask them yet i don't know any that does and i can't seem to find a 100% run to watch and see.

Sorry was just trying to be helpful

Georgia, USAHolyJesusTiTz5 years ago

@Seydie honestly the delay is around 1.2 to 1.5 seconds and you would have to count that in when you start and end the timer.

Georgia, USAHolyJesusTiTz5 years ago

A universal capture devise is a mobile phone here is a good way to capture 3ds games and you can use similar set ups to capture consoles i say use OBS on your computer so you can crop it real time and not have to edit. Though if you have a capture card like a elgato i say still run it through OBS as OBS works with just about any capture card that way you can overlay a timer in a video while recording it live or streaming it your pick. And for games like Phantom hourglass that requires you to use the bottom screen it might not be that great but still it works and is very cheap.

Georgia, USAHolyJesusTiTz5 years ago

Try using a Tripod the cheapest where i live is $17 or like Seydie says stack books though if i had to use a phone or cheap camera to record something at a high place i would get creative
