I mean i figured a form called talk people just wanted to talk and or know your opinion about stuff like the "What's the most disappointing speedrunning improvement strategy you've seen?" thread so i figured no harm done in commenting on it

That still does not give a answer. But if i had to give my own interpretation i would say ones that are a year old way different than what Drakodan seems to interpret

Well the most disappointing speedrun strats i have seen are the ones that makes games boring to watch like seeing a continue run in any Danmaku game done optimally or seeing a any% run of any game being under 3min yet they are hard to do and sure it may be fun for the runner but really boring for the viewer to watch.

@Mojoh games i find easy may differ to what you find easy example i find Danmaku games very easy the harder the difficulty the easier they are for me and the easier things are the harder it is for me to comprehend those types of games. Also the only game recommendation i can give you is Metroid: Other M although things to note the game won't let you skip cutscenes on your first playthrough there are pixle hunting segments that are so simple you would face palm after looking it up and you will die a lot to Desbrachians so no worries. Oh and you unlock Hard Mode by 100%ing the game plus most of the enemies kill you in one hit in Hard mode also you take more damage while in ball form.

My longest was 12h it was a casual blind any% run of A link between worlds when it first came out at launch and fun fact it is the first game i ever preordered. The second longest would be my Bleach: the blade of fate 100% run which was 6 hours and 5min long.

There where times where i opted for a slower run over my PB due to me actually not liking the way the video turned out a example of that would be The Last Airbender for the DS with my PB being 1:19:06 but the one i submitted to the leader boards was 1:25:32 as my PB had really bad audio issues as the game was louder than my own voice kinda like having the TV on full blast in your ears. But i have never actually deleted a PB of mine in place of a slower run that i liked better but i was actually tempted once as i just did not like the run.

I can only recommend games based on what games you have listed that you played and the lowest the WR for those games are to gauge how fast a speedrun of those games would be also i will try to list games that are sub 3 hours and you can also play on the PC without having to use emulators

  1. Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII the WR for any% normal is 2h 05m 05s for any% easy it is 1h 59m 30s and for NG+ Hard it is 1h 34m 49s
  2. Final Fantasy XIII-2 the WR is 2h 40m 33s yet still sub 3 hours
  3. Final Fantasy X-2 the WR is 2h 35m 10s i will not include FFX as that game is still over 7h long
  4. InFAMOUS: Second Son the WR is 2h 47m 25s
  5. InFAMOUS First Light the WR is 1h 14m 53s
  6. Metroid: Other M the WR for any% is 2h 17min 03s for Hard Mode 2h 01min 05s for 100% 3h 01min 33s NOTE: You can only unlock Hard mode by 100%ing the game additional note this is a good action game and the best parts said by many would have to be the Bosses. Oh and one last thing you can only skip the cutscenes after you first beat the game then on any file after that you would be able to skip the cutscenes as it is tracked on a game level not a save file level. Also the cutscenes adds a extra 2hours and you get one shot by just about everything in Hard mode so pretty much Dark souls.

Final Fantasy XV is fairly short about 4-5 hours if you are really good at the game and it is for PC, Xbox One and PS4 family of consoles.

Question how do you cheese him? Like is there a glitch or something to cheese his green health bar to non existent? Like he keeps killing me in 30 seconds sometimes 10

So what i have noticed is that you can skip the trigger by not directly looking at a specific spot on the bridge when you go by it and the trigger is only there after you kill the first spike. And this saves 1 to 2 seconds also i am not sure about the Japanese version as i only have the English version. Also sorry i messed taking a screenshot for example photos 4 and 5 and now it shows both of my monitors but the sub mission trigger is around the curser and circled area. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1plw2MgEKf1e1oMDMtsf6aEgkvr6ekqmb/view?usp=sharing

If you could find a way to make it where you could gain blood in that state then sure it could be useful. Or if anyone finds a way to have infinite blood then that with this glitch would be really good as basically god mode.

Question is the Japanese version really only 24 seconds faster than the English version? Which brings me to ask is the English version fully optimized as in can't be done faster?

Georgia, USAHolyJesusTiTz5 years ago

Ok then i probably just don't understand the combat system or i am just bad at JRPG's even though i like and enjoy them. And yeah i will check out some runs of this game and see if there is anything i can learn, and before you ask what about the experience at this point it is about my pride and being to stubborn to accept defeat at the hands of this game.

Georgia, USAHolyJesusTiTz5 years ago

Ok so i was not asking why there was not a glitchless category i was asking if it could be ran glitchless as in is it possible. And yeah i know there is a point to where it is hard to tell a bug between a glitch more so with this game and usually a glitch is defined as more severe than a bug. And i don't know if this game would be fun or not being done glitchless i just want to know if it is possible, i did not mean to sound like one of those people that preaches everyone should run glitchless and nothing else.

What am i doing wrong? as i seem to never be able to get past chapter 11 of this game. Is it because i don't like grinding so i just don't grind or do i just not understand the combat system? I have been playing this game since 2010 and i still can not get past chapter 11 and the only thing i have figured out is that it was mostly luck that i got to chapter 11 in the first place. And i have been playing on the Xbox360 and why i have not given up on beating this game yet i don't know.

Honestly i figure coming to a speedrun board is probably my best option if i ever want to beat this game considering how long i spent trying to beat it.

Why use In game time and not real time? I am just curious as to why it is like this. Also i have seen Sir_VG's run and was wondering why not stop the Livesplit Timer at the last hit to Jegran? Like i am only asking as it seems like a odd choice for timing method when you can use Livesplit.

Also side note the last i played this game about 3 or 4 years ago i was pretty sure you could skip the cutscenes on NG+ then again could just be a false memory not sure.

Like literally a hour of the game is just the loading screen and the game loading as if you go to fast or sprint a little it feels the game is constantly loading. Like i get that they wanted to preform good on the One X but why is it so crap for the Xbox One? And before you ask yes a hour of it is my fault as my brain farted during a run a few times but it really does have around a hour of loading alone and if not careful will crash during chapter 7. Also will be submitting a run soon sometime between the next hour or so of this post.
