So there's a couple levels where there's timesave to be gained by getting an optimal relic (Beneath the Surface and Bad News come to mind). Right now neither of these levels require an optimal relic to get or beat the WR, but it's possible that in the future that might not be the case.
While not a likely change to be implemented now, I'd like to bring up the possibility of editing the scenarios to force these relics to be a specific relic every single one.
Though, of course, this would bring with it the possibility of editing other things in the scenario, so maybe a mod could be made to set the relics for you, if that's possible. I dunno, I just think that needing dozens of resets to get even a chance at an optimal level run is, how to put it... kinda cringe and not fun.
Hello!
Okay so, like, what's the point of the Moderate/Hard categories? What do they bring to the table that Easy or Titan can't serve. Are there any unique mechanical changes that would make for an interesting speedrun on even a single level?
Cause that's the only reason I can think to keep any of them. Out of all of the Moderate/Hard runs, three of them beat the time on a Titan run (two of those coming from moderate runs; Light Sleeper and More Bandits, while The Jackal's Stronghold is faster than Titan on all other difficulties). Betrayal at Sikyos ties the WR with both Titan and Easy, but that's because it's an autoscroller.
Aside from that, the Editor Glitch sub-categories for both difficulties is completely empty.
Right now those difficulties exist almost exclusively to clog up the board and provide easy "world records" for anyone who cares enough to submit runs.
I see very little downsides to retiring those difficulties. .
