It pains us to do this, but we feel like this is something important that has to be brought up.

So recently, twitch has made a change so that they only allow up to 100 hours of highlights. To all of us that stream attempts, this is extremely heartbreaking to see and it caused some red flags to the mod team on how we are going to handle speedrunning submissions moving forward. Most of you guys know that one of our rules for Super Punch-Out Single Segment runs is to livestream your full attempts if one of your intentions is to reach the sub 2:36 barrier. Originally we were thinking about keeping the rule since YouTube live streaming is a thing but ultimately, we decided to wipe out this verification rule.

Having said though, we do find the extra proof to verifying the Single Segment runs to be helpful. So we decided that all runners who reach the Sub 2:36 barrier, need at least 30 minutes of previous footage up until your starting attempt (Similar to the 1 minute Narcis rule that was added a little while back).

In addition to the rule change to Super Punch-Out!! Single Segment. We also have decided that we are not going to allow anymore Twitch Submissions due to it being an unreliable source for our speedrunning archives. Twitch is no longer considered a trustworthy website and we feel that this has to be our decision moving forward. We all hope that you guys can understand why we have to do this. If anyone does stream on twitch, we would highly encourage you to download your footage and post it to YouTube where it can be seen.

Any Twitch submission before February 28th 2025 (and some others that are still pending) WILL be kept on Speedrun.com seeing as how unfair that would be to any past/present runners that used twitch for submissions.

Again this decision is unfair due to the twitch change, but the situation we are in has had our hands tied behind our backs and we want to make sure verification is easier for us.
