So, ironically enough, I was actually trying to do this, and I think it happened. So, doing a fast accel on the warp zone room in 4-2 results in a framerule being saved. At least, with the method of wall clipping I did in the run. I'm not entirely sure in this could help to get 4:54 or not. Here is the lnk to te video comparing the normal strat and the fast accel: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v48Cw9hAlHugHk-Tmnpos9yq2mYgcRWU/view?usp=sharing Also, I am completely aware of the terrible quality. Edit: Since nobody is reading this, I just want to say that the FAST ACCEL is the only hing I am focusing on. I am aware that I use an older method of wallclipping. I believe this saves the framerule with the normal method.
Hmmm... This is actually a decent find. I don't know if it will be viable enough to save another framerule consistently.
yeah, fast accels are hard. But don't they use one in 8-4 in like every wr run within the past like 1 or 2 years?
Yeah what was done in the vid doesn't look even close to being fast enough for light speed framerule lul.
okay that's fine like I said, because I wasn't 100% sure if it did or not. But it saves the framerule in the method I did. Aside from the fast accel, the runs are 100% the same in the first room.
yeah this clip was the original version of Blazit that was used by AndrewG back when 2 bump fast 4-2 was the go to. Its actually slower than the current Wallclip. Also entering the pipe in 375 should have been a dead giveaway that this wasn't as fast as Blazit. A Fast accel at best saves 2 frames when done perfectly and we are far from 2 frames away from saving the next framerule even with the best wallclip anyone has done.
how many frames are actually needed to save the framerule from a good wallclip
Actually, Darbian got a 4-9 Entering Warpzone: , but yes your point still stands, 9 frames away minimum to get the framerule.
You guys don't understand. It is the fast accel in the warp zone room i'm talking about. The clip is just the one I use okay?
If you do the HappyLee method clip, you can save another framerule without fast accel. If you use the 2 bump method but the really fast variation (executing at absolute perfection) you can get 8-F and then you will need double fast accels to save the framerule
So you need what KingOf_JonnyBoy did, plus two fast accels to get the lightspeed 4-2?
Any% (NTSC) runs below 4:57.000 must now fulfill additional requirements in order to be verified.
- The run's full session must be included in the submission description.
- For emulator runs below 4:57.000, some form of input display must be visible for the duration of the run. A hand-cam or input
