It is a bit slower to reach the Shine, but the main reason people don’t go for the text skip is that it just can’t happen on the any% route, since it depends on the previous areas you visit
200$ is how much the Family Edition Wii cost at launch iirc, nowadays you can find one for much cheaper since everyone and their mother had one.
Make sure to get the vertical one tho, the horizontal one doesn’t support GC games. You can tell them apart by the orientation of the Wii logo on the front

For a race file, you just need to start a new game, play through the airstrip, watch the court cutscene, then save once you reach the plaza.
Note that race file is only allowed for certain categories on the category extensions board, check the category rules if you’re not sure.
Yeah, Wii has faster load times. It’s also easy to homebrew, which is useful for practice or to play discs from other regions
No I mean you can take 7 damage, then fall out of bounds and you’ll die from fall damage, not from being oob
“-Fruit stand clip is not allowed, you must die of fall damage” Sounds like you mean “Death by standing out of bounds is not allowed”, banning that one clip would be pretty arbitrary, and you can take fall damage by landing oob which would fit the goal of dying from fall damage

Hi! The reason we ban SD/USB loading is because it’s significantly faster than loading from a disc. We do accept it for individual levels that have no loads in them but unfortunately that’s about it.
Note that it’s still perfectly fine to run any category you want, you just won’t be able to submit your runs to the leaderboard

Yeah, even without Nintendont, ISOs are banned. If you have a decent PC, you can use your ISO on Dolphin though, since it tries to emulate disc load times
Video proof is required for good enough times in any category, not because faking a slower time is okay, but because a faker typically won’t be interested in the 187th spot on the board, not realizing what it takes to get there legitimately. So we chose to let people try out the game without having to get a recording setup.
It’s not like we just accept anything past the threshold either, if someone we’ve never seen before submits a 1:25:00 in any% without video, it’ll likely be rejected
We do have a few ways to get into that pipe without Yoshi, but it’s hard to tell if yours is new without at least an explanation of how it’s done
Yeah, it only happens on Dolphin, especially when you use save states. It’s not just in Sirena 6 either, the goop looks normal but doesn’t do anything (NPCs don’t sink in it and Mario can walk through it as if there were none), which causes the Sirena 6 timer to stop immediately
