Fantastic - I'll have it added. if you have a ruleset I can use that would be lovely.

Hello!

I'm happy to add a new category if you have run ready to submit!

Love to see new interest in the game and a neat new way to run it.

I hope you had fun running 1 trip! I highly recommend looking into 4 trip or even 8 trip. It's such a rewarding and challenging run with a tremendously high skill ceiling and tons of room for optimization.

Okay first off - sorry about my absence. I see I recently received head of this board.

Truth be told - my absence was the 1 trip boards. They're not something I wanted in the first place and had no interest in verifying those runs and most of the runs being submitted were one off runners just getting a quick time on a board that didn't take any effort.

I'm archiving that particular category for now. The runs still exist in said archive so they're immortalized forever there.

Thanks for understanding and happy running!

Hey there! So sorry - this would be Arcade (JP)

I adore the name "Most of the dang game"

25 is what we're thinking is the "soft ending" of Pro, right?

I'd be willing to throw a run in for this category.

If someone has a run to submit I can happily make one!

I fully support this! Congratulations on yet another Druaga run!

Unless you're specifically running CD games off of original cds, do not buy a duo. Just grab a TG16, Coregrafx, or a PC Engine and an everdrive. That's easily the best and most cost effective solution.

I've gone ahead and added this as a category!

A new exciting brutally difficult chapter of speedrunning awaits!

Hello!

I agree that in the future we should request timers be present on screen.

However since this was submitted before we came this this conclusion that we can gladly make an exception here for this run, with the caveat that in the future a timer must be on screen.

Yeah I've tried a bunch of times to do better than my 14:45 and honestly it just felt like a fluke that I ever got a time that low. It was literally my first run ever of the category.

Let's see what we can do about adding this - worst case it's just us going back and forth - and that's a great thing.

Greetings!

Looking through the categories for Pac Land, our full game boards have plenty of activity and our ILs have a noticable lack of activity.

I'd like to ask the community how we feel about these and if we'd like to remove them.

Currently we have 2 IL runs on the board with a 3rd pending approval and that's across all consoles and all trips. So that's an astronomical amount of empty boards.

It's clear the people that take running the game seriously are running 4 trip and 8 trip categories and I don't feel like much would be lost if we dropped the ILs.

Curious as to what others think. If there's a strong argument for keeping them, I'd love to hear it.

I'm sorry I totally missed this post a month ago!

I'm all about adding a pro 4 trip board. As you've learned, later trips are just absolutely absurd and shouldn't be attempted by humans.

I have a pretty old run of this (my hair was a color!!) as well to submit if we start this board and honestly its a great way to give our community something new to poke at with tons of room for improvement.

I think the biggest thing y'all need to do is realize ILs and Full Game runs are just completely different things and stop using IL rules on Full Game Runs.

Your full game boards are barren even in the best of times and it's entirely the fault of your rules. How can you say "Ghost behaviors are now acceptable except when we say they're not"

That's bananas. We've been running a board off a google sheet with reasonably written rules and are constantly attracting new runners.

Hell we even had a 5 way race of a very silly category just recently. That's how a speedrun community should be.

Honestly - y'all need to actually LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE ACTUALLY RUNNING THE GAME and either take a hard look at what rules are right for ILs and what rules are right for full game and make that split or y'all need to just step down and stop running the board.

Admittedly I don't have a ton of experience with the Arcade version but from what i've played and messed around with - this version is very much so the JP version.

The major differences are between the US and JP version. If there's a little RNG difference between the AA version and the original JP arcade version - that's forgivable and reasonable.

This is correct - runs on that version would go to the JP Arcade board.

Hey there,

After thinking about things a bit more - I can understand why we'd want Pro Game in "All Main Treasures" as well. My initial thought was "It's a different method to unlock treasure and there's only 1 per floor" but that shouldn't change anything. Essentially a Pro Mode run of "All Main Treasures" would collect every treasure in the game.

Regarding versions of the game that are less known such as the X68K - I agree that we do not make a category for it initially - but if someone comes along with a run and would like to submit it we can make that category at the time.

Thanks for everything y'all have done for this and letting me be a part of it. I adore Tower of Druaga and i'm so glad to see the full game categories getting a lot of love and attention here for once.
