Decided to go ahead and update some things this week, and will continuing writing the rules, and testing the game further through gaming sessions.

Unfortunately @OMEGACOMA has stepped down from mod and speedrunning. Still looking for another moderator at this time. If you have a suggestion, question, or feedback please post below, or join the discord.

Here are the new updates

Renamed Categories - Any% is now Single Player. Renamed Categories - Any % Co Op is Co-Op (Unrestricted) Added Category - Co-Op (Restricted) Online Added the variable - 2 Player option to the Co-Op Restricted Online. Double Checked all runs.

Explanation of Single Player

Story Mode - Allows the use of points, and is where you can play with multiple players, It seems 5 is the limit on Steam, 4 on Playstation and 6 for Switch.

Speedrun mode - this mode is restricted to 1 player, points are unavailable.

Explanation of Online

Online Mode - this mode is also restricted, some consoles like switch and xbox are only able to invite 1 other person to a lobby. Points are unavailable to all players. You can not leave mid match, and sometimes random people can join your game because lobbies are not set to private (this issue is prevalent on Playstation more but also happens on Switch. ) Some stages like the Dragonzord stage, losing even once on the boss forces a game over.

I have posted and shared a lot more of the information on the discord. All old runs are still staying even after the update. There is no reason to archive them since the time to beat the game has gone down, especially with addition of the Power Blast moves (Attack + Special) , and the current state of the game feels more complete and less buggy then previously.

I hope this helps some people with understanding the modes. Points are also transferable between difficulties, you only need to level to max once on one file. Good Luck Rangers!

Took the time today to make some changes.

  • Typed out the rules
  • Added the icons to the slots
  • Duplicate board has been known about for sometime but because of the twitch update informed src about it.
  • Ported AlphaNerd's run. (Great watch btw)
  • Submitted my own run from a while back now on youtube.
  • Added the sudden death mode.

If for some reason you stumble upon this game, have fun, its one of the better Simple Character 2000 Entries.

So I was playing game today, went and watched the SGDQ run by @tbcr after, they mentioned their was clipping by strafing, however never really explained how to do it.

I can't seem to get the same speed or clip at any of the spots. This definitely a game that would be fun to learn this in, but I tried holding ALT for strafe, and using the SHIFT key to build up speed, but I am not able to do anything like in the video.

Do I need specific cycle settings for the game? Am I supposed to be holding a specific key? Would someone be willing to share more info and an explanation of the various clips in the game?

This game has two endings you can get throughout playing,

2nd place ending, which requires you to accumulate 1500 points or more through video games, usually this requires still doing very well in most stages, but intentionally failing when you have the required points. This ending sees you get the 2nd place prize which is a dress that doesn't fit Maruko chan.

And of course the 1st place ending, which requires you a accumulate 2000 points or higher to see the true ending. However this is rather difficult, because you must get perfect scores in nearly every event.

When you are not able to reach either score you wont see either ending or staff roll.

Discord link was added up top to the Momodora community in addition.

Runs were double checked, I think after the twitch update some will be lost to time.

The leaderboard and names were backed up.

Keep playing Momodora, its very cool to see where the series roots came from!

Odd thing with Twitch Vods and Legend of Princess

This was something I found out before the announcement that twitch was forcing Highlights and Uploads to be backed up because of space.

But all vods for this game on twitch have been removed, mine seemingly went corrupt overtime.

When I went to back the ones up that I had played a long while ago. The video wouldn't play. I deleted my video because it wont even download anymore either.

Just thought that the information should be put out there, it seems the others who also ran this game and have twitch vods linked most likely had the same issue.

I thought it was pretty mysterious and no other game I played had encountered this issue. In fact all 5 videos I had on this game got corrupted. Maybe there's nothing to this, but just thought it was odd was all. Maybe someone had some insight out there.

Last game in the series so far for Senko no Ronde,

Not much to add here except that this is probably the most easily available version to play, in addition to have dlc.

  • Changed the category name to Arcade

  • Attached the difficulty variables for the sub category.

  • Same standard difficult percents this time around too.

Request if you wanted character annotations, or other things added.

Unico, back in 1995 released this, entry in Korean arcades, with some surfacing in rare places, or in some curious arcades in Japan. There's a lot to pick a part here, but as far as Kusoge certified. Anything in the Masters Series is most definitely on the list not just for gameplay but for stealing assets, sounds, etc.

In present times its all fun to enjoy this so please, grab your controller and see what sillyness you can find. It's sure to be a speedrun anyway you play it.

  • Renamed Category

  • Added Sub Category Difficulty

  • Just kept the 3 choices to Easiest, Normal, Hardest percent. this game may or not be affected. Need testing.

  • Removed High Score.

  • Added Annotations for Characters

  • Removed invalid runs.

  • Fixed the rest of the toggles on settings to match with other boards.

  • FGC Speedrun Discord, https://discord.gg/6Ay9bmb Linked

  • The Masters Fighter, the PlayStation exclusive version (not a port) https://www.speedrun.com/the_masters_fighter is also up for you to challenge.

Samurai Shodown Warriors Rage, or known as, New Chapter of Samurai Spirits, Strange Tale of the Swordsman: Revival of the Blue and Red Blade, or known as, Samurai Supirittsu Shinsho - Kenkaku Ibunroku: Yomigaerishi Soukou no Yaiba, or known as, that one ps1 exclusive sam sho game.

Whatever you call this game, Many of us are just discovering it. Maybe your a master, try your hand at some speedruns, and lets learn about this rare part of Samurai Shodown / SNK history together.

Some changes to the leaderboard, suggestions always welcome, and please post any strats or info about this game. It really isn't well documented so the more to add, even a little, the better.

  • Added Character Variables.

  • Not sure if all characters added completely, wiki said 23 characters, some sites had less, might be secret ones unlockable?

  • Removed 1CC

  • Added the Difficulty Sub Category

  • Renamed the main category to Arcade

  • LEVEL 1, LEVEL 4, AND LEVEL 8 added as acceptable categories to submit to. No other variables so there is no any percent.

  • Theme is cool, kept it.

  • Added the discord, post the cool findings in there as well.

Hinokakera was a game I recently found out about through @BOSSCAT, although I am late to the party, I feel as though this game released well ahead of its time. It might have one of the heavier systems of an anime styled fighter that I have played, and its got some cool flair to it.

I did some minor updates.

  • Added character variables.

  • Aya Immortal is tournament legal and allowed. As well as she is unlocked from the start.

  • There are special fights after the credits on normal% I am going to assume they are on hard and or nightmare%.

  • Difficulty spikes very accordingly to the name of % - so hard mode is not something I can clear at this time and nightmare mode is just that right now, a nightmare of a task.

  • Double checked previous runs. and self verified for now.

  • Added the fighting game speedrun discord. https://discord.gg/6Ay9bmb please join if you have a question or cool strats / media you wish to share!

  • We are still looking for the previous versions of this game, contact if you have or know where to get for this doujin fighter!

The start of the X2 series, some crazy high damage in this game, along with the introduction of many tension, ik's and many things we would get used to calling normal for the guilty gear series.

Some small updates

  • Variables renamed to reflect both the PS2 and Arcade versions so there is no mistake on selecting.

  • Minor differences with some infinites and damage (slayer grab infinite) between the Arcade, which is why they are separated. The load time is slightly faster on the arcade as well in this release only.

  • No Instant Kill Challenge has not been added but can be if someone does a run first. Please see the rules over at https://www.speedrun.com/ggxxr Guilty Gear X2 follow up game #Reload for more details.

  • News made for the update.

  • Join the discord https://discord.gg/6Ay9bmb if you haven't already.

Post here if you had questions or comments. The discord is open to all to discuss and post content about the game as well.

Guilty Gear X2's next game was #Reload, a welcomed upgrade to original Midnight Carnival. While not completely fixing the balance of the original, It did add Robo Ky, and historically it was a big deal that this game had the ability to play online with the Xbox.

Going back to older versions has led to new discoveries for players of this game, especially with the release of the GGXX #Reload PC version. This realization also leads to updates for the leaderboard.

  • Chose to show emulator runs by default (more runs are now visible on the board that were previously hidden.)

  • Disabled IGT, Don't know why this was turned on but it was glitching some runs and records. This game and all other entries in the GGXX franchise use Real Time Attack (RTA.)

  • PC loading is completely different from Xbox/PS2/Arcade releases. Time to skip the loadings is essentially built in. However with the GOG, Steam, and other PC releases your able to skip that section entirely. This means the original releases have no way to compete with this.

  • Will add a separate sub category variable for the PC version.

  • Removed console unlocks or no unlocks. If your already playing ANY% then ANY character is ok.

  • Removed the time variable. From here on out, time should always be the default. After watching speedruns and doing diligent research. Time has no visible impact on AI behavior. And If your playing to get time overs in guilty gear, your doing it wrong. Please use the default time setting outside of anything that's no any%

  • Console unlocks were not defined, I will put a list below this to show what they are/were for each game. If I miss some please notate.

  • Archived Survival Mode, there are currently 0 submitted runs, if it is desired to have back we can unarchive it.

  • M.O.M mode was under misc for this leaderboard with 0 submissions as well. For right now it has been archived. If a run is submitted it will be added back, if its a full completion run.

  • Removed the "Other" under run types. Not a single run used this variable and its undefined. Basically no idea what other means, and it seems none of the runner did either.

  • Arcade No Instant Kill Challenge has been added as main category.

  • Moved the Any% to its correct spot under the difficulty. Again changing the time, round, and using secret characters fall under this percent.

  • Grandfathered the old 1 round Easy, and Normal, and Manic runs, under misc. You can still submit to the 1 round challenge there. I also beat the WR time for these before switch, so I misc'd my own runs as well.

  • Switch Difficulties to have the above mentioned Any%, and keeping Beginner, Normal, and Maniac, adding the percentage symbol to show that its the category.

  • The only Instant kill runs were Any%, rechecked all runs.

  • Fixed the link on some runs so the video would embed properly.

  • 1 round runs that use anything above the Beginner percent difficulty were put in the misc category mentioned above named NO IK 1 Round Challenge. @diabetesNINJA @Antea @norinori74 and @DBcade have runs under that misc section now.

  • @waniknife, who did the default round and time on maniac was moved to the appropriate category.

  • Arcade's Variable difficulty set to: Any%, explained in detail her, Beginner%, Normal%, and Maniac%

  • Arcade's No Instant Kill Challenge also has its Variable difficulty set to: Any%, explained in detail her, Beginner%, Normal%, and Maniac%.

  • Annotations for Rounds and Timer removed. Outside of Any% you MUST use 99 default timer, and the 3 rounds. The standard has been set long before this site existed, please keep the arcade speedrun rules standard for games that have an arcade release.

  • Run types variable removed.

  • News thread made, this change will be reflected on ALL Guilty Gear boards, even adding No Instant Kill Challenge to previous runs. Please enjoy the cleaner board, and more clear way to run the game.

  • Fighting game speedrun discord https://discord.gg/6Ay9bmb updated as well. Please check there.

Feel free to post below if you questions or comments regarding the game, this was a huge change log but this game really deserves the best treatment. You can also reach out on the discord.

Fight against commandos, yokozuna, teenage girls, muai thai users, George Foreman, old karate men, the T-800, and last but not least, Mr. Bear.

Also on the extreme difficulty list, mainly due to Mr. Bear having ultra instinct and being able to whoop your ass for free especially on harder settings. I think this bear surpassed Ryu...

Fixed and updated the leaderboard with the following:

  • Individual Leaderboards fixed.

  • Categories renamed and set with default displays,

  • Disabled the ability for mods to verify their own runs by default.

  • Added the discord https://discord.gg/6Ay9bmb Any loops, or strong strategies are more than welcome to be posted and shared over there.

  • Added Character Annotations, as well as attached them to the current runs.

  • Removed the Continues / 1CC sub variable.

  • Fixed back end variables.

  • Changed the theme, and added the most appropriate background.

To all who challenge the multi-fighting style championship, I seriously wish you the best of luck!
