UV is the main because in 94 there was a thing called "Doom honorific titles" which was essentially an achievement collection where people submitted demos of single-segment runs of levels to boast about how good they are. Eventually everyone beat the game on UV without dying (NM was considered impossible at the time basically) so they started seeing who could beat the game faster, and boom.
yo that map sounds sick, I'm banned on discord mind reposting it here or letting me know when its up?
Do you have any idea at all what the word glitch even means?
PC and Console are different categories because console runners want their runs to be recognized for no particular reason, so they have their own special category for it.
For most games, this doesn't exist, and the fastest version is commonly used. This is why there is a platform section, to determine what platform the game was played on. For example, for the console category, you can choose PS3 or 360, etc.
The transition begins after the health depletes, generally these happen at the same time. However, the rules do not specify on transition.
EDIT: Also, I watched omega's run and the timing is the same as mine, his cutscene transition is just quick, the cutscene transition from last hit is very random in small amounts.
EDIT2: To expand, the cutscene transition is based on if you get hit (as seen in my run), or also the direction of your camera, and where you are when you deal the last hit. I've seen anywhere between instant and half a second based purely on camera. This element of RNG being included in the timing seems kind of silly to me, tbh
it's not an outlier, it ends on the very same frame everyone elses' runs end. There is no difference in timing between mine and others, however, you and YW1 (?) want to change the timing rules for some reason, whereas I want to keep them the same. I've played this game nearly 800 times, I know how the boss behaves. sometimes he will hit you and you'll take damage on the frame you finish the game, and that causes a minor extra cutscene. You can't move, you can't do anything, the game still ends the same way. I am arguing in favor of keeping the timing rules the same, and not changing them.
Why does it matter, though? Either way the game ends at the same time.
I did lose control. the game ends there and you cannot move. I did not split early.
This run was "retimed", but the timing standard is to stop timing when dealing the last hit for ripto. If you take damage at the same time as dealing the hit the cutscene switch is delayed a little, but that doesn't impact the timing rule. Timing doesn't stop when your camera changes, timing stops when dealing the last hit (as so the rules state), so I request this run to be re-retimed and/or retime all the runs on the board and specify the new rule.

EDIT: To note, when you take the damage, you don't lose the hit on ripto, the boss' health still goes to zero and the game ends, so the timing should remain as last hit, because that has been the standard and it makes sense. My point is YW1 made a mistake.
Preserve the run but if someone doesn't want to be attached to that run, then that's ok. The run itself should stay, though.
I'll make it if you want bud
So I noticed that Clear Tonic has been advertising an event that allows me to use X Collection for X3 but it tells me I'm not allowed to use the doppler skip. What's going on here? I thought "Any% No Doppler Skip" wasn't a category?
I guess you guys should reconsider adding it. There will probably be a lot of new runners soon!
Middle tier difficulties are all mostly the same, I don't really see a point in running each of them individually besides easiest, and hardest (uv, nightmare is just a meme tbh), but I can work on some more resource stuff in the near future for sure.
Hey guys, was on vacation again, and now I'm home for a few months and ready to get to work on fixing the leaderboard. So, where's the category? Any response?
