Hey, yeah, this is a thing. You can get stuck on enemies as well. My most common victim is Fullmetal Hugger due to its large size of parts. The 'buzzsaw' as a couple of us are calling it seems to happen every now and then, but definitely - Finding a consistent set up would be lovely!
For anyone super pressed about there being no 'glitchless' category - A run has been submitted that utilises significant tech, and a new category will now be discussed and actioned. Didn't take long. :)
Currently, I've mostly seen people run beginner and normal.
Easy seems like an unlikely run, just due to beginner being the option for faster/easier play. Potentially the same for Hard vs Expert. We'll have to see what comes out.
So far, I've just placed down any% with PC/Console split, and the difficulties. I'll add a NG+ with the same. Glitchless vs glitched will only be separated when it gets to the point where specific glitches actually change the run. So far, even with all the glitches found, a route/strat build hasn't arrived involving them making a huge difference to the game. When that becomes a thing, it's time to define and categorise.
I did not say that you were untrustworthy, Apin. You asked for admin/moderator role in an existing community discord server without having even joined the community yet.
I said that the admin mod team of that server is made up of known and trusted community members. I never said 'you are not trustworthy'.
What I did say is that I am not comfortable giving admin/mod of the community discord to a person I have never spoken to before. It does not matter how many games you are supermod on SRC for. That community discord is for the Mana Community.
Mana Series speedruns has been a thing for a decade, and the mod team is made up of newer and older members who have made significant contributions to the series as a whole.
I think it's best if it was made so Mods can't just upload another user's run to their leaderboard without their consent. It is up to the runners themselves to choose to submit or not. The same goes for runners wishing to leave a community and remove their runs from the boards, those runs shouldn't be resubmitted afterwards.
I have had to deal with moderators adding my runs to their boards a few times now. Sure it's a legitimate run, but I had my reasons for not submitting it. I'd prefer that to be respected.
Just like mods have to accept and confirm a run's validity, if a mod tries to submit another runner's run for them, the runner should have the agency to decide if they want that to happen. Reaching out to a runner isn't all that difficult either, to just ask if it's ok to upload, then the runner can ok that upload when they see it.
I guess you just mean that you get a free cast of it and get the first few steps for free, eradicating any early encounters on a floor?
Having new categories is nice, however with no one seemingly running them right now, there is no incentive to create the boards for them. I'll ping 2dos and see what he makes of things.
Also, acmlm, saw your runs of this, was mad surprised to see you running a Camelot game! I'll be looking into this game sooner than expected, so those maps are super handy. Do you happen to have any more resources for the run?

- Added new Variable of 'Oni Spirits'
- Submit to the version of the game you're playing on.
Rather than making a level leaderboard, as it contained all the variables on it, convoluting the leaderboard further.
I saw you post it, aye, but I didn't get around to making the board last night. I'll make it now for ya
I'll only really add leaderboards if there are runs and interest for it, rather than creating an empty board :D If you wanna get some runs going, let me know, and I'm sure we can have some room for it. It's definitely got the potential. The strats are very specific for that mode.
A bunch of work has gone into researching the 'columns' upon which we find ourselves. We have ways to figure out which column we are on. As for 'manipulating' it, there has been nothing found thus far, to my knowledge. The guys in the discord may know more.
Hey, man, thanks for the grats! I was definitely interested aswell about doing Scenario's 2 and 3 at some point, for sure! Medion's story is so good, and running it would be beaut, I feel. As for the all Scenarios, that would be an ordeal and a half. Would make routing very different, but perhaps a segmented version of that would be good.
3 Days, 3 Scenarios, one final time of all three together?
You can play with JP text on the NTSC-U and PAL versions, but it's negligible differences to my knowledge. Just change the language in the options :) And I can't say for model, I've used a 90k and a 70k PS2 and had no issues with either. But haven't researched if one was faster.
Mostly models tend to affect PSX titles more than PS2. I'd recommend a slim, mind.
Generally RTA is the best factor, IMO. I dislike IGT as a whole.
Can you confirm what you mean for PC and PS4 IGT differences, Morpha?
I would be of the opinion that IGT is the primary timer, as the game has it, but RTA separates who is faster, should times be the same in-game. In the event of that, the person with the faster console would win. Not sure what people think about that??
That run was safe, yeah, but I managed to execute it, so didn't need my back ups, so in terms of learning them, it won't show them, specifically.
In terms of back up souls, you can basically delay the necessity for the Fire 3 until later. YTou don't need it until you escape from fighting Stylado. Clear the odd extra mob, if you miss the Issens that you need is also a way to go.
Generally delaying what you want to upgrade tends to work in your favour, as long as you clear extra mobs after to keep it from spilling over against you.
There are definitely ways to do just RTA, for sure. But I mean make IGT main comparison, then further separate when IGT is the same.
It's definitely a thought I had. I was under the assumption that the board actively knows to separate 1st and 2nd when there's an IGT tie, by using the RTA.
What I'll do is try and talk to Pac and see if that's possible, otherwise, I'll have a chinwag with the lads and see what we can do. RTA would make more sense, but I'd like to eliminate the possibility (for now) of people being hosed by difference in load time between the console versions, specifically. For now, of course.
I'm up for changing and adapting things :)
I mean, i understand the rules.
I still thinking showing Disc 2 as 6 hours, when it's actually a 2 ish hour disc is silly :P That's all
