Hey, I installed celeste classic on my calculator (TI‑83 Premium CE Edition Python), ported by: I made a 4min50sec run, do you think a run on a calculator is allowed? I think probably not, since it's not in the list of platforms to publish the run, but I was wondering just in case.
No it's not allowed, many of the weirder ports havent been thoroughly tested and almost definitely have some version differences, for example the level spawn animation looks different from vanilla in the video here
ok, it seemed logical to me but it was to have confirmation. Thanks!
Reminds me, awhile back I did a speedrun of the Playdate port:
I was thinking of setting up a page called something like "CELESTE Classic (unofficial ports)" since I've found quite a few of them.
That would be great but I think that run verification will not be possible. For example the calculator version has no sounds (simply because the culcator cannot play sounds)
That shouldn't be a problems since sound isn't required for normal Celeste Classic either, I believe it's just recommended for top runs.
Alright, created separate page/categories for it at: https://speedrun.com/Celeste_Classic_Unofficial_Ports Feel free to submit runs there.
Apparently porting this game to so many platforms became popular after the release of Celeste (2018) which has the official port as an Easter egg.
