as many of you understand: the timer starts when the fade-to-black transition starts after pressing play. I've made the decision to change this one more final time. it doesn't make sense to me to time you for that part of the game you have no control in. so, in order to fix that, the timer will now start as soon as you spawn, as indicated by your crosshair in the UI appearing. that is the exact frame that runs will now begin being timed. this is something I should've had in place since the beginning. thank you all for your patience. all runs will be retimed ONE LAST TIME today, and then no more changes will be made to the timing rules (almost certainly).

so far, you can run only the first half of the game or the second if you'd like in there. if there are any other good ideas for what would work as a speedrun, you can comment and let me know and I'll consider adding it.

all runs, both obsolete and current, old and new, will now be retimed using https://retime.mcbe.wtf/. this will not change the current placements, but your times may be slightly affected. runs will now be recorded to the nearest 001ms by measuring your video's frames rather than using your livesplit times. I honestly should have done this from the beginning. sorry everyone, I'm new to this whole modding thing. thank you for your patience and understanding. -Maedawg.

Runs have been posted that have shown a new way to complete the game. rather than opening the fridge to see the duck, runners have been able to just exit the room to end the game.

because of this, a slight change to the rules has been made. i changed "run ends when the screen turns black after seeing the duck" to "run ends when the credits start" because exiting the door begins a fade-to-black transition.

so all runs will now have their timers stopped when the credits show "anatidaephobia" on screen.
