All the massive launch tricks are fps dependant, meaning that you need the PC version (and preferably no vertical sync) to succeed in them, unfortunately. (I think that is the case with all the newer Lego games) The PC version got an update too but it didn't change much at all in terms of speedruns. I think all the other tricks should work on non-PC versions but don't count me on that.
Hi, Since a lot of Lego games have a "Free Play RTA" or "Any% Free Play" sort of category, I think this game should have one too.
I suggest the following rules:
- Play through all the 12 story levels in free play mode, in any order you like
- If the game crashes or softlocks, you can continue the level from that part (since you can choose (in free play) which part of the level you want to go to)
- Red bricks are allowed
Here's a run of mine:
I started the time when entering the character select screen, not sure if that's a good place to start though. I think the time should be stopped when entering the last cutscene, as shown in my run. Or maybe at the "level complete" screen or something.
Adding a Co-op category for this would be nice too. (And one for NG+ too, pls). I hope some of you mods would read this and make this an actual category. Thanks.
I just remembered that 100% thing ZachyJ1 mentioned, it happened to me too when I was practising. If the stud fountain is the last thing you do to get 100%, you indeed will get 100%, but the game does not save automatically (at least not on pc) after building so you have to save your game somehow (for instance going into a level and save&quit) and then the game saves your progress and you will have a nice 100% file.
If your cantina timer is under 20 hours, you don't need video proof according to the rules, right?
I've had a few 100% files that I got by skipping some red bricks and they are still 100% files.
You can alt tab out of the game and close the program on pc. And then you start it again
Basically I just used the engineer script found in the "guides" section to build and destroy four teleporters. I think the game only checks if you've destroyed four buildings and thinks you've completed the training.
Is this allowed?
Here are some stupid glitches I found during my 100 % run. Just don't destroy that bush before using force on it. i don't know what happened
good stuff When are you going to run this? Must watch
In the Any% runs I saw Blood_thunder and Zemanzo skipping the hallways by going to the menu with a keybind or something. Does anybody know what the keybind is?
EDIT: found it in the SDA forums: https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/quantum_conundrum_26.html
quoting Blood_thunder:
Go to your steamapp files -> common -> Quantum Conundrum -> Engine -> Config -> BaseInput
under 'general bindings', paste: (you can make Tab any key you want).
Bindings=(Name="Tab",Command="Disconnect")
I added Lego City and New Town as misc categories with 1 and 2 players
Hi, I changed the rules of 100%. Now you are required to provide a video of the run if your time is less than 20 hours.
Timer starts when you gain control of character in cantina Timer ends when percentage counter reads 100% Timers, such as Livesplit, show a different time (Real time) than the cantina timer (In-game time). Please submit both if you have them. Video required if your final cantina time is less than 20 hours. Runs must be on an empty save file No cheat codes allowed Runs played on DS don't belong in this category
I think 20 hours is a good requirement, does someone disagree?
