Why is there an Disc / PSN subcatory on Playstation leaderboard ? Vote or anything ? If not, i will delete it. Everything must be voted, thanks
( ps : I don t like it, everyone know that version is bullshit, it should stay merged ! )
i do know that some games are faster/slower if they are disc or digital download but i really dont know too much about it.
It s not really about a good or bad idea but more about has been voted or not ? Cause i really doubt of it (notice me if i m wrong)
I didn't make the change, and I'm not bothered if it is reverted or kept.
I didn't notice it until about 30 minutes ago either so clearly this was added without anybody's consent. I would suggest deleting it on principle at this point. If anyone has a good reason to have that added to the boards, make a thread and discuss it. I'd recommend removing it immediately for now. I'm not opposed to having it on there as I am very open-minded to speedrunning and players' choices in versions and platforms although I would never recommend this version to anybody haha.
similar situation on the re2 board, someone split some categories and added an extra sub category without mentioning anything and it seems to be around the same time this change happened on re1, interesting.
To nullify the issue people have with PSN, I've just now set 'PSN' as a selectable platform. When you go to submit a run, PSN will now be in the list of selectable platforms.
(It's listed as a selectable platform under 'show obscure' in edit game)
PS3 = Physical disc PSN = Playstation network download on a PS3
Why that platform wasn't listed in the first place is a little odd, considering PSTV is listed, so I'll assume no one knew it was there because it was hidden under a tab.
Just gonna reopen this thread to clarify this:
It was me guys. I know it was not a good idea doing it without notice but I considered it was just a small change that would represent PS3 runs better tbh
It just doesn't feel right having PS3 compared to PS2/1 runs (and in the case of RE2, comparing it to PSP is just ridiculous lol), but welp, the version is kinda "useless" for speedrunning anyways so not going to discuss it further. It's fine as it is.
I thought the idea was good. Just didn't want to get in the habit of making automated decisions. I'm open for discussion about it and you make some good points Zenix.
It has come to our attention that the current version of Duckstation (v0.1-7675) runs considerably slower than earlier versions. Until we figure out what can be done to either get the current version up to speed with the other times on the board we suggest that runners use v0.1-7294, which can be fo
