RE PC graphics question? (Rebirth Patch installed)

I notice quite a few people able to play Resident Evil/Biohazard PC during speedruns at higher resolutions and with a bit of texture filtering going on and was wondering how that is achieved. I was finally able to install my U.S version with the Rebirth patch and fix the speedup issues but now find myself stuck with washed out super low-res graphics. Is this due to the graphics card option chosen during installation? I figured not since the Rebirth patch seems to make that not matter from what I could see?

Anyway, I was curious if there were any ways to achieve the graphical appearance seen in some streamer videos playing the PC version in what appears to be much higher quality, or if I'm stuck with the 320x240 resolution.

I fully understand there are probably a lot of factors in this.

My version is the Virgin release with NEWEUR applied, then Rebirth. Like I said, everything else is fine, the game is playable. I was just hoping that maybe I could increase the overall visual quality before eventually doing my own streams. :3
