Etelä-Pohjanmaa, FinlandHello, I have created an autosplitter for this game and it's now available directly in Livesplit. A full run has never been done on this so testing would be appreciated, as I don't run the full game yet myself. Includes start, split and reset functionalities. It has pretty much only been tested in hub 1 + bosses.
Known bugs/problems: -When starting the game, for some reason will quickly start and reset if your splits are on. -Sometimes (happened twice to me so far) the variable used to trigger splitting does not initialize properly in the game and this causes splitting to not work. Restarting the game fixes it - hopefully this cannot happen mid run. (Might not happen anymore)
Edit: Was able to find an improved way of tracking the game state. All levels and bosses should now split when finishing the level, but I've only tested the first two hubs.

If FingersTehHand has his stuff that's cool then, you won't get anime and other stupid stuff but if people are fine with it I'll just settle with bringing my other rhythm game stuff and setting up a rhythm game corner somewhere in the venue (my desktop and laptop computers, 144 hz monitor, keyboards, tablets, KSM controller...) the Xbox is kinda heavy. Wonder if I should also bring speakers 🤔

I have an Xbox 360 with Rock Band 3 and 1600+ songs, there are hundreds of custom songs including tons of anime and metal stuff. If someone has a better collection I'd be surprised. Really interested in bringing it in :)
I have tested the PAL CTR on PSTV and it sucks big time. However, I can't test the NTSC version (because my PSTV is locked to the PAL store) and I don't know anyone who has their PSTV in the NTSC store (Spyro games are in PAL store for some reason) and the only game where PSTV is seriously a thing so far is Spyro 3. Unless you can get someone to confirm that NTSC CTR is good, you should not get one for CTR.
Also I have no clue about Linux and Mac. I know there was one person who did one run on Mac but that doesnt really help. Also if your load times are slower on Win10, seems pretty weird. I'm on 8.1 myself.
We have considered this before but Huniepop is such a simple game that any people with a computer from the last 5 years should have the same loads, at least using 1.0. Sure you can make a loadless timer yourself, then we can reconsider and look at the options. What do you use for mashing? That is usually a much bigger timeloss for people than loads. We allow everything for mashing that is not a turbo or a macro, for example mapping mouse1 to several other keys using joytokey.
The categories here are mostly just what the original huniepop runners competed in back in mid 2015. For example, Unlock Venus was created to fill the void of a semi-long category. You do have a point about adding difficulties to UV and AP, the leaderboards would be rather empty but they wouldn't really hurt anyone. Also would get rid of the ugly AP hard in the meme categories.
I'm not some sole insane super moderator, there is a moderator team for this game. You can also try to contact Blazephlozard to hear his opinions, which are most likely the exact same as mine (he is very busy with other games nowadays). The moderator team, however, is small, as a very small amount of people have ran this game competitively.
I'm not active, as I've optimized these categories as far as I care without any recent real competition. I legitimately care about this game and these leaderboards and the moment someone beats my PBs I'm going to be very happy and jump back into the grind.
I've done a meme run of Teddy Floppy Ear: The Race, even though I'm not sure if you could call it a speedrun. The game is pretty fun to play though, despite being terrible.
You can do one, people have done so multiple times. It will never get leaderboards though, so if you want to be competitive that won't be your first choice.
EDIT: Oh, your post was specifically about adding. I'm not a mod, but the answer is no. 99% likely that no more categories will be added to Spyro 2.
Homie% Hard is only a thing because of an ancient video. The category name in the video title is "Homie% Hard" thus I, along with Blaze, think that that should be the only category of that sort. I personally don't think having separate categories for every meme you can do is good for the leaderboards. One might say, what's the loss, but as I've been a part of other communities I really like how only the main meme categories usually have leaderboards.
For example Spyro 2 has like 25 different categories that people have done, but only 7 have leaderboards, and out of the meme categories only those which have some history have leaderboards. Actually, I probably should remove All Panties (Hard) too, I've only ever tried doing it because I felt it would be fun (it's just slow), but it's definitely the hardest relatively sane category for the game (no one will do 100%) so I think it has some purpose.
I personally think keeping the leaderboards relatively clean is better than flooding it with memes. And also, some extensive routing and time has went into this game as a whole, so I see it as more than a meme myself :) it's an insanely fun speedgame and I'd love more people to try to get good at it.
