Possible adjustment to the rules

The version of the game on the Switch allows you to Game Over and continue literally right where you died with little to no time loss, and since you then get refilled bombs and often better weaponry, it seems that gaming over, in some instances, could be a better strategy than trying to stay alive. I hopefully don't sound ignorant, as I haven't been playing for quite as long as other people here have, but would it be smart to add a rule against gaming over?

Is this Continue situation your describing on the switch actually different than the normal Continues on the arcade(you respawn with Heavy Machine Gun and 10 bombs)? There's no rules for continues atm because it's generally not faster. The only situation I can think where it would be faster is during the final fight, and that's only if you do not get a good weapon drop.

Yes, it's the same. I would've thought opting to use the Heavy Machine Gun would be faster at more times than that, but if not, then that's that. This is just from an inquisitive point of view, if you become a zombie during Mission 2 and there are no opportunities for a kit anywhere, is it faster to take a death?

When you are zombie, if you have a bomb than using the bomb at the proper timing is faster than taking a death. See some videos.

Ahh, I think I see now, thank you!

I just skimmed through a run I could Game Over for the HMG drops. No particular places in mind, just areas of expected speedrun deaths without weapon drops. Start of mission 2 uses pistol, but the speedrun uses bombs to resolve this. First part of mission 5 is an auto-scroller. There's a delay on death and falling on respawn, HMG isn't worth it compared to the 10 bombs. Quick pistol gunslinging should be able to clear out the fodder and damage the tanky enemies; toss a couple of bombs is enough. HMG is one of the lower damage dealing pickups. With the game dropping a number of weapons it's pretty safe to say that Death Abuse is more of a Bombs only thing. unless someone finds a magical HMG exploit that shoot the entire magazine in a fraction of a second.

Earlier today, I completely skipped the fourth red crab in mission 1 on accident. How does that action work?

South Korea

if you are playing with real NES hard ware, by killing 3rd red crab really fast(before the fourth crab comes out) It is skipped

Okay, so it must have been programmed the same on the Switch port. Thank you!
