I just found out that void walking has been fixed by klei and im genuinely wondering if speedrunning is possible anymore. now to get this straight, im one of the long term players and seeing so many changes, i thought to myself.
what about speedruns? obviously, the faster bosses have been beaten, the better it is. but with voidwalking being fixed, this really leaves both a legacy and a questionable alternative strategy to speedruns.
not wanting to stir drama, older speedruns were just once in a lifetime attempts. glad we can still downpatch, but does that mean we have to even categorize updates from now on? would like an response from that
i guess thats all, im still following this game and been always thinking about speedruns and strategies but never practiced it. thanks for reading my yapping
As bad as it seems, it only really affects unseeded fuelweaver. In seeded, voidwalking is generally slower than just having things connected or within telepoof range.
Runs done on older patches have currently no good reason to be separated since players can simply downpatch to play on whichever game version they choose
