Better have this topic where we can add some stradegies and basic tips, that can then put/update to Guides-section.
I finally figured out the quick 180-degree turn system, the game has that, but there's no info about that in the manuals. You have to press Run + Down to make character turn quick 180 degrees. Trouble with that is that you have to stand still, before you can do it, you can't walk backwards and then just hit a button, you have to stop first. But I noticed that if you keep the run button pressed all the time, you can run forwards, then stop, press down to turn around and then continue running to opposite direction immediately. Works on both, PC and PS1 versions.
Okay, found new bug from the PC version, beware:
What happened there is that one item bugged and turned into that blank item decribed as ''door''. That happened with Kenzo, with that one hatch on the corridor next door from MOOD door, which contains health boost syringe. I didn't pick up the health boost from the hatch, but, when I went away from the item screen, there was a command available ''Take health boost''. I picked it up and it turned into that ''door'' item. You can move that item with VacTubes, but you can't use it or do anything with it. And when you have that in the VacTube, it doesn't register properly, meaning that the game tries to put the fourth item into the VacTube. Possible game crashing bug.
Also, JoyToKey doesn't work if you have the compatibility mode lower than Windows Vista. Tested with Xbox One controller.
Aaand the game crashed so hard today, it actually crashed my computer to BSOD :D Haven't seen that for a while.
Yea the dodge is completely useless, way too clunky and slow. Funny to watch for couple times but that's about it.
I'm willing to bet that since working with DC1/2 and RE1-3 has been difficult task, Gemini would never ever touch this game, as it's evil from the code. Guys at GameHacking and PSXDEV have been helping me with extracting music files from PS1 version and all of them have said that the game is super evil to work with, and so broken.
@Doze_D I have tool for extracting audio from the PC version: https://github.com/kapdap/mgu-speech-exporter
Thanks, but I already managed to do it with DragonUnpacker, that has ATF file support on HyperRipper tool, to extract those WAV files out. I did a collection of those to my YT channel.
Just watched @Failmore's 1:33:57 run, and started to think about the first computer with Kenzo, that propably the best tactic would be to skip the Piccolo ammo on the nondead corpse, you get enough of it later on (+ you can share it). Just run to the computer, quickturn 180 degrees and then use the computer. After the computer, you're already facing the door to run out.
Second thought is with the movement of the characters. If you're standing in the middle of the corridor sideways, and you need to turn 90 degrees left/right, don't turn, just start running and steer to that direction you're going, saves a littlebit of time.
When going to Necropolis, do you need to kill the Trimorph running in the volcanic pit ring immediately ? I would leave it to Karne to deal with when he's running there to set up the explosives, saves about a minute.
With the ghost zombie in the graveyard, propably the best tactic is to aim at all the time and evade from him backwards towards the airlock while shooting, then go behind him and start backing up towards the graves while shooting.
