There is some way to skip the dialogue before jumping in the water as well, I did it twice but never found a consistent way to do it but it saves like 10 seconds if done right.
Hello, me and Ylevolm will be submitting a Co-Op any% soon but one thing we kept running into is bugs that prevent us from continuing the game and random game crashes.
Some of the bugs and game crashes are consistent like the final mission 1st phase with the key, we kept getting an infinite loading screen every time and he had to leave the game, a failure screen would pop up and we would barely skim the 1st phase completion and be able to continue for when he rejoined.
When loading an autosave to save time traveling if I even touched the mission before he completely loaded in (sometimes even when patiently waiting), bugs, bugs everywhere and game crash immediately and consistently.
There was also a few escorts that, de-synced in a sense, where the truck was one place on the map for me and another for Ylev and if he flew the helicopter he was too far from mine and vice versa and we could not continue unless restarting the mission, sometimes several times.
There was another mission where Johnny would not open the chest on the ship until restarting the entire mission which was easily like 10+ minutes gone if not subtracted or timer not paused.
In solo play we did not find these issues, therefore in co-op I hope that mods for this game will accept time subtraction or pausing the timer until resuming the position that could not be advanced upon and time stamps for these occurrences can of course be noted because there is no way co-op will be an enjoyable/consistent speedrun otherwise, we already tried messing with the game, game settings and some other tricks and it did not fix these bugs from occuring which is why I bring this up.
@Trollbear666, LMS, all part of the plan :^).
@DarkerStix Yes, it is related to the video you linked, the title was just put there so people would be familiar with the concept, title can easily be changed.
@Racingmonster Yeah, I just put entries for every flag I saw who submitted runs and what not so that could be true.
@PreFiXAUT I pasted this from a google doc and threw this out there just to see if there was any open interest, hopefully that answers most of your questions because otherwise I have a plan B & C with how to direct this short film and will reach out to select individuals instead. I also didn't see an issue with having people post here since I saw some threads with 100's of replies but I see your point.
The purpose of this information being pasted here was to give more details rather than just saying I need some people to interview, the only thing I need from this forum is responses of if people would be interested and prior to even doing this there was plenty of people who were however, I thought it would be much more endearing to the world to get runners from as many countries as possible so that this documentary would have a higher inspirational level. If I wasn't clear it's not episodes it's one short film/video 56-80 minutes long (most likely toward the short side with lack of interest in runners) being submitted to many platforms ie: youtube, netflix, hulu and anywhere else I can think of as me and several individuals discussed those details already. As for the host thing, the original direction of the video was going to have narration from all the runners and then myself in the filler moments, now it might lean toward most runners but more narration from myself, we shall see.
Anyone who reads this post, please go to the "Talk" section of the forums and read the Official Speedrun Documentary post that I put up, even if you aren't selected for an interview you are still more than welcome to make suggestions for the documentary.
Those who wish to be interviewed please post "I would like to be interviewed" or something of that nature and post the game + category you would like to talk about and also if you have a working microphone and or a working camera.
Title - “This Is The Run”

Subject: Speedrunning Documentary
Focus
1.Speedruns+categories
2.Glitch hunting
3.High end gameplay
4.Optimizations/routing
5.The community
6.Individual runner interviews - 1 primary and 1 secondary to act as a backup if the primary is unable to attend the recording session (USA is the exception with 2 primaries)
- Different assortments of information + video clips to include the runners speedrun
Individual Runner Countries and Participants + Questions
1.Each runner will start with a greeting (and if possible a fun/respectable hand gesture) in their native/primary language
2.What game and category do you speedrun?
3.Why do you speedrun _/why is your favorite game to speedrun?
4.What got you into speedrunning/why do you like it?
5.What do you like or think is unique about the speedrunning community?
Special Interview Questions (ie: glitch hunters)
1.What got you into ?
2.Why do you enjoy ?
3.What do you like or think is unique about the speedrunning community?
Each runner must discuss a different game (this means if Zelda OoT has already been selected you must chose another game or forfeit your interviewee spot) for as short as 30 seconds and no longer than 2 minutes. Each runner should preferably speak the native language of their country (with translations) however this is not a requirement. No duplicate games are allowed to provide the highest variety for the documentary and all categories and concepts must be covered by the end of the last country runner interview (CAM & MIC STRONGLY PREFERRED however, CAM is not a requirement) and this can include the following…
•Any%
•100%
•Glitchless
•Special Categories (ie: no special warps, 2 player 1 controller, blindfolded)
•Glitch Hunting (Lance_)
•Optimizations/smart routing
•Fun Tricks
•Endurance Speedrunning (marathons, 6+ hour runs)
Note: If certain categories and topics are not met, slots for already full countries will be opened up (ie: USA runners who want to talk about glitch hunting) and if any countries are not listed they will be added upon runners from a new country requesting to be interviewed, once a post is put on the forums I will be selecting runners until all slots are filled or until 1-2 weeks have passed and meanwhile for those selected early, I will begin scheduling interviews (via Skype/facetime, etc) with each primary meaning PLEASE LIST some sort of contact information on your initial post, I will update this post and or contact each runner individually to let them know they have been selected, those selected will have a run of their choice featured in the video/film.
Remember, the goal of this documentary is to represent speedrunning and the speedrunning community and all the amazing things that take place so diversity is key!

We are keeping track of everything in a sense that the only level that has changed significantly was blackpowder where 2 barrels only spawn on the map at any given time compared to them all being spawned before (therefore we resubmitted that levels new run) and as for The White Rat we achieve a faster time bum rushing the gate and 2nd floor compared to despawning the first phase so our current The White Rat individual level has a 30 second window to be beaten but we haven't done it yet since we have had no competition.
All of these runs were done post Sigmar's Blessing except for a few of the Blackpowder submissions.
Me and the individuals who run this game found that the maximum speed can be achieved in these current settings but also not be lacking any sort of challenge/strategies. We have done full runs/individual level speedruns on all difficulties and this is what we decided on in the end.
We were the only runners in this community so there was never any discussions about these things, no hacked weapons exist for individual level submissions and the only time it appeared was in the Any% run, however since the difficulty is only on hard we see no reason to change what we set forth, an elf with a Hagbane bow can achieve the same results as the mage staff, we have tried it and coincidentally achieved faster times having the mage use the beamstaff at the time.
So what makes hard faster then easy?
The difficulty was chosen so the run is not a complete blow out/joke for completion and that a certain skill cap is required from each player in order to survive/have consistent completions of runs, nightmare speedruns were near impossible to achieve the fastest time while hard was not impossible but also not too easy, thus achieving an acceptable balance.
Why go back to the inn after each map?
This was to ensure that different runners didn't have an advantage of getting levels they had wanted to do next and saving time in the run however, the more competition there is for running this game the more the Warhammer community can vote on submitting runs without load times which would solve that issue.
Why not use the intro move exploit?
Me and Hrorek discussed this way back, some players have issues doing it successfully on different PC's and in different patches so we just ruled it out to try and establish consistency of submitted times.
Why are the single levels on nightmare and not cataclysm? or easy?
Nightmare is the perfect balance of difficulty and because these are individual levels, the reset factor is not as unforgiving as doing a full Any% run via maps like Man The Ramparts which can have a very high rate of failing individually when trying to use speedrun strategies.
Hacked in weapons are okay?
The mage staff is the only currently accepted hacked weapon but only for a full Any% run, hacked weapons are banned from individual level submissions, but the staff offers a moderate advantage and can't be spammed that would otherwise be creating a significant blow out and lack of challenge for the run, using it too often will cause the player to D/C so we declared it acceptable and because the difficulty is only on hard no group would truly need it.
@XYX, I will keep that noted and will need at current times an estimation of 1-3 runners from each country for commentary and for USA BubblesDelFuego has the first spot reserved.
@Lance_, the documentary like any other documentary is going to cover Speedrunning and the community as a whole and give as much justice to it as can possibly be given, make it truly shine like the great community that it is. I will definitely need glitch hunter enthusiasts.
I had some IRL issues halt me starting the project outline but now that I cleared things up, my future is looking brighter than a 100% OoT run where Dampe was bribed to give the heart piece on 1st try.
Hello Darker, nice to meet you, I have 4 months left and plan to get out and become a LCSW, hope you're enjoying Bremerton :p, Walter Reed is arguably one of the worst commands :^).
I just realized I never made an introduction post so hello everyone, I have a lot of ambition to do fun stuff with this community because the people here are all genuine in their own ways and I have already made some great friends. I have always made videos and GMV's (gaming music videos) as a hobby and really enjoyed doing so but after talking with some runners I wanted to tackle my biggest project yet.
A really nice documentary for the speedrun community, so I look forward meeting many of you :) and am currently working with BubblesDelFuego on getting this project going.
I woke up and found out and I was nearly out of food resources so I went to the store and despised it because I hate auto-scroller missions because they feel so slow having to wait for lights to turn green while driving but on the bright side at least I had good cop RNG as I can not afford any tickets because I have to manage my funds strategically to ensure my survival bar doesn't get too low, I would continue this story but my life soft locked as I had to answer a call from my significant other and fix the problem :^).
No reason to compare speedruns good sir :^).
lol damn I knew it, when going through the game I thought their might be something I missed when it came to the specialist missions because after doing Wogah is when the next story mission unlocked but I had just so happened to have done Jayma before him and the only reason I did Blood of Oros was because I thought all the specialists had to at least return to the village but if this is no longer the case I am happy to do much less in the run.
This is the notes I have pulled up on my other monitor while I'm doing the run, mainly for the resources.
Gather (total mats for route) - [Goat Skin:4] [Alter Wood: 23] [Reeds: 11] [Slate: 17] [Deer Skin: 2] [Wolf Skin: 6]
RNG based optional (while gathering meat along the way) - Improved bag [2 boar skin]
Skillpoints in order - [PHeal1] [Tame lion/saber] [DFA, mam rider, beast rider] [ex health2] [Shard Takedown, Heavy Takedown] [prim heal 2] [tag en, hunter vision, craft arrow 1]/rest are preference
Bonfires - #1 First one before tensay,#2 next to bone cave, #3 after Big Darwa Fort (near The Taken Wenja mission start)
The beginning is the best place to farm all the mats for building Sayla, Tensay and Karoosh's hut so if you were to find a route it would be for the bow, club, spear, some arrows and their huts.
You can just shoot a fire arrow for the vines.
The skip at the cave was good.
Bonfire skip is good but can only be used on that first one pretty much
Anything I would have to add is in my run because typing everything I found would take a bit but any glitches, exploits or anything for the Batari fight would be nice , someway of glitching on to the platform maybe or glitching a pet in there to hit her while stunning her.
