What are the thoughts of allowing hardware emulation? Things such as MiSTer or the upcoming analogue Duo?
I got one would like to see these statements added to the "allowed" rules, I've played rondo on a mister and it even seems to emulate the CD load times for what it's worth.
I recently started playing this game on a MiSTer FPGA using the TurboDuo core. I'd be interested in running the game, but it would be good to know if FPGA was allowed.
If it works for you, just speedrun the game using that method. No two ways of running this game are alike so it really doesn't matter.
The MiSTer is definitely something that can be accepted on the leaderboards. I've been speedrunning TG-16 on the original hardware for years and the MiSTer is nearly identical in experience. With Rondo the loading times are different on the MiSTer so, my opinion, is that it should be marked as emaulation. But, besides that heck yes speedrun on MiSTer!
That's awesome to see. I def don't see any issues with MiSTer, but can we get an update to the rules that will allow it?
The rules are pretty specific about what is allowed at this time.
The community also had a chat about this in the discord server and MiSTer has been enabled as a platform option for submitting runs. Good luck everyone!
