In case we ever need to find a basket hover in LFV, we can enable tricky ball by doing CCE and hitting the loading triggers by the K3 door

It is also possible to get a boost of normal SharpClaw crates: A glitch hunting candidate would be if we could get a "free" hover OOB in IM. This would save a substantial amount of time in Single File, where hovering during the Snowhorn Trial is optimal

Found by MTP and posted in the Discord:

A pretty long video with some unnecessary segments , but I wanted to show everything that's going on. I don't know if this glitch is actually known or not , I will put the video unlisted if it is.

0:00 : There is a very short window where you can press start after inserting the spellstone. It allows you to save and quit , which gives some very strange effects later on. When reloading the savefile , the game instantly plays the cutscene , nothing too strange there However the savefile will be softlocked from that point , I suppose the game isn’t updating a flag needed to progress. Pretty sure someone more knowledgeable than me regarding this game could find a way to get around that softlock.

3:21 : There I am re-entering the room and the cutscene will play for a second time for some reason. Pay attention to Fox and Tricky during that cutscene , they will have some glitched animations.

3:50 : This cutscene will play normally , in normal circumstances the next destination is Walled City , but Peppy doesn’t agree to it. If you decide to go anyways while ignoring the Barrel Roll rabbit , the King Earthwalker won't be where he should be.

Also worth mentioning that this glitch is also possible with the third spellstone , but I don't know a way to re-enter that room.

By performing Wrong Menu glitch, then resetting the GBA, we can do a frame perfect unpause to gain control of GBA and GC simultaneously

Interesting glitch:

  • Perform menu control glitch from a merchant
  • Enter/exit the buy/sell menus a few times to eventually be allowed to buy stuff again.
  • Buy a few items.
  • Press pause twice to leave buy menu (but maintain GBA/GC control)
  • Open artifact menu
  • Open command list
  • Tap up once. This appears to access command slot -1 (or 255)
  • You should now be in a glitched slot. Equip some meat here. This will corrupt some data for the 2nd letter in your list.

Theoretical 1-2 minute time save discovered!

Can simply escape the door and stay on the edge, and we're still officially OOB.

This skips the need to kill the sharpclaws, open the door, watch the cutscene in the cave, and start the race. Also skips bike flag glitch.

New route at IM is:

  • Immediately cannon clip
  • Seam drop
  • Bike dismount
  • Door clip
  • K5E

While doing SRM for every one of those steps. No known SRM setup exists, so this is TAS only until RTA setup is found.

Can overlap the General Scales final cutscene with... itself. Need to pull staff after doing General Scales glitch while backpedaling into trigger.

It just makes the first 13s of cutscene weird, no actual gameplay impact.

It's possible to zoom clip through the IM gate, but I couldn't clip OOB. Also we can't get OOB with the cannon, since the cannon doesn't notice Fox in dismount state.

If we could get OOB here, it would save an additional 1-2 minutes, bypassing the need to kill the SharpClaws, open the gate, and start the race.

By doing Wrong Menu from an opened letter to a Crafting NPC, we can get a glitched letter list of 255 letters.

Opening these sets a flag 0x80 in memory, allowing us to corrupt some data.

Uses seem to be:

  • Corrupt tribe model 🤡
  • Corrupt inventory/artifacts for next character slot (likely useless)
  • Force unequip Tribal equipment for next character slot
  • IGG for next character slot (slow)
  • Reply to certain letters we have never actually received
  • Manip Gil sent home to family

We now have an insane way to craft any item outside the crafting table by naming our character a name starting with え, then getting a Rancher letter (which starts with our name) to load this character into memory.

Doing this allows us to set our Gil to any id in the crafting table, and craft items outside the normal crafting table range! This essentially gives us access to 80%+ of the items in the game.

  • <Assumes default inventory, Buckler from RBP1>
  • IGG 480 Gil
  • Unequip all items with GES. Tribal slot needs to be 4th equip, should show Sword icon.
  • Frame Perfect Letter pause glitch, destroy then equip Travel Clothes.
  • Go to Tailor, open Rancher letter fully, then do wrong menu glitch. Important: For this step to succeed, either the recipe list must load, or glitched text must appear on the screen anywhere. Any other menus should be cancelled via pause, and then try again. Important: Do not touch letter menu again until crafting is done!
  • Go to Merchant, open 'Buy Menu' to load merchant memory

<11TH INVENTORY SLOT SHOULD BE FIRST AVAILABLE>

  • 480 (0x1E0) Gil -> Crystal Ring (Slot 1)
  • 425 (0x01A9) Gil [DROP 64210 Gil] -> Gaia Armor (GES to Tribal, Equip [Wrong equip to Accessory])

Turning off the GBA on the last frame of character creation can cause partial data copy:

Also corruption of other slots (clear name, change profession, reset inventory, etc)

It appears to just corrupt slot 1:

Character corruption is a full character wipe. Nothing useful that I can find.

Since this creates a blacksmith in slot 1, if another slot already has blacksmith, this can be used to spawn 2 blacksmiths in Tipa

On JP/PAL, this does not do slot corruption, but instead can be used to cancel the forced character selection when using 1 GBA

This allows 1 GBA to create multiple characters without being forced to watch the cutscenes immediately. However, these will be forced later.

This does not really save time, because the same thing can be done by a 2nd GBA. Just reconnect the GBA after creating each character.

Misc glitches with no real home.

Pause a few frames after pressing buy or sell. The GBA will remain unpaused despite the GC pausing. See Merchant IGG for video.

Very slow. Use merchant pause glitch.

From here, we can sell an item multiple times. However, subsequent sales will only give 17 Gil for some reason. Also, this can cause inventory item count underflow, resulting in a broken inventory. Potentially fixable with wrong crafting or letter item overflow.

NOTE: Video inaccuracy -- subsequent sales only give 17 Gil per sale, making this a very slow form of IGG.

Using Merchant Pause Glitch, back out of the merchant menu entirely to glitch the merchant. Talking to this merchant again will lock the camera in place.

Discovered by O.D.W.

Using two characters (ideally merchant/tailor), have the tailor send home a potato to the non-Roland letter. The next letter should have 800 Gil that can be duped with letter item duping.

Artifact memory is shared with wrong craft memory. In theory, we could obtain the artifacts:

<Ogrekiller, Sasuke Blade, Murasame, Gekkabijin> or <Engetsurin, Sasuke Blade, Murasame, Gekkabijin>

These would cause slot "A6" or "A5" to load into wrong craft memory. If combined with certain letters / command list data, this could allow us to treat our Gil as an item, and craft it into ANY item on the crafting table.

Unfortunately, due to how difficult it is to obtain these artifacts, this likely will never save time in any category.

Theoretical river + miasma skip. It may be possible to equip and corrupt hitbox properties for characters in slots 2 to 8.

If we could use CLES (command list equip swap) glitch to equip inventory slots:

  • 1488 (slot 2 hitbox)
  • 3048 (slot 3 hitbox)
  • 4608 (slot 4 hitbox)
  • 6168 (slot 5 hitbox)
  • 7728 (slot 6 hitbox)
  • 9288 (slot 7 hitbox)
  • 10848 (slot 8 hitbox)

And somehow corrupt these (ie eating them as consumables), it would enable very useful noclip and give us river/misma skip.

The problem is that the IDs at these slots are just garbage data, and would crash on equip. We would want these to line up with a consumable, or phoenix down, or ??? ulticite so that we could corrupt the data.
