I think that's an interesting idea.
Personally, I think the original and remakes of the Sprash games are completely different games as far as speedruns go with different routes, tech, additional content such as the relics in Crash 1 and 2 HD. The concept of the 1545, as far as I'm aware, is to bring together the 3 annual Sprashfecta, 301, and 602 races in one big event. Since the Sprash remakes are never played in the Sprashfecta itself, and no game is ever substituted, this kinda goes beyond what's meant to be included.
Obviously, you already know this which is why you're not suggesting these be compared on the same board but as a separate category. However, I still feel that it would be as arbitrary as adding and removing any other games such as adding Crash 4 or removing DK and making separate categories for those.
Last point I'll make is that the Sprash games all allow for emulator use. In fact, it's one of the better ways to play them since all 3 Crash games are optimal on three different regions. So, if you have a computer that can handle running PC games or recording PS4 gameplay, you should have no issue running OG Sprash on your PC.
I'd be interested to hear other's opinions on this though.
(Also, there are Sprash HD categories on the HD Spyro, Crash, and Sprash boards to submit to on their own.)
Rules apply to WR as much as last place. Slippery slope :D

I too would like a board with a 3 million-way tie at 0.0s
I believe that is the route yes. Iirc thats how you do 337s so...

Next year Twitch removes all stream layouts.. wait, that wouldn't be that bad tbh Pac, blink twice if you're in trouble. Did somebody on here hurt you? But fr, opaque monochromatic boxes kinda kill the point of a background. It was nice matching the panel colour to the background, adding transparency, making all the text look nice with it. Probably reconfigured all that about half a dozen times / year. Some things are definitely nicer UI-wise (ex. submitting a run) but appearance-wise it's not going in the right direction, even with the re-added backgrounds and logos, it just does not look good.
The L+R input is never registered so its not against the rules.
Kinda up to you if you feel good about submitting runs that exploit the emulator though.
@Jumpyluff Did you even consider he has an bed?
Sounds pretty mundane as its own category. As far as I know, there is no rule banning ESG in the remaster categories. Why not just use that in your runs regardless of other runners strats?
I just realized my point for 2) might not have been clear.
If a community can define the differences between versions to something that doesn't affect gameplay (for example, lower framerate makes the gameplay easier & slower) and then use that definition to compare runs of the same game played on different hardware (region or condition), then it promotes interest in the run. Anybody with this game from their childhood can pick it up and know they aren't at a disadvantage just because they don't have a certain version.
I'm not too familiar with SMW but for SMB3 the differences (https://www.speedrun.com/smb3/thread/7pslq) extend to the actual gameplay and isn't just removing time for load(s), meaning the game could be easier or harder depending on the platform & strats.

This is just a question of SDA vs RTA. As long as the whole board conforms to one, I don't see what the issue is. (Personally, I prefer RTA since mashing through the opening of a game prior to character control should be considered part of the run.) There is probably a historical reason RTA was chosen for this game which possibly an older mod can comment on.

If we're going to point at precedents then we can also look at any% and warpless of this game (non-SNES). We already remove loads (https://www.speedrun.com/smbtll/guide/jj2r0) for those runs based on hardware condition so if the precedent says "Just play on the fastest version!" then everyone should get a Powerpak or accept a 6+ second time loss. This rule was most likely implemented to retain fairness and competitive integrity which isn't a bad thing.
My 2¢ anyway
If you're suggesting a leaderboard for every single character (24?) Please no
On any leaderboard I'd like to right click a run and open it in a new tab while keeping the LB open. Is this a chrome issue or does the site not have it?
