why isnt the amount of profiles capped? should be a show more thing
why do you even have useless social media? that devalues every actual contact method you have. it is as bad as having no contact as a mod
if many big boards would just hide the leaderboards as a strike behind variables it would probably be enough. no proper griefing needed.
hypothetically we did all make one week pause of not using the site, it doesnt really matter. the data is here people can look at leaderboards etc. it would need a long boycott to make leaderboards inaccurate, to actually do something fast like a strike. leaderboard moderaters would have to grief their own leaderboards.
nobody is willing to put that much work into it.
Trust me, you dont want to be a moderator.
i honestly clicked like again because the thumbs up doesnt change when you liked something.
@1 yeahhhh... but did you look at his first post? "Gender is not a flimflam word, it was literally put in place to designate how one GENerates life, in a male way or in a female way. No others and no in betweens, those are the only ways human persons are lawfully generated."
i dont care about transphobia and other intollerant things to see if somebody is trolling.
this is a so bad strawman (its so wrong i wouldnt even call it that honestly), there is no other explanation than shitposting.
but i would agree if somebody would come and post their actual opinions on this stuff they should use an alt.
why isnt xenophobia an option? purge the xenos
i just want to say it would be less political if the site would have made a space which can be filled with custom text for important info for the runner instead of pronouns. (people might want to mark which games they moderate or where they have WRs etc.) we wouldnt get people starting those discussions then when people fill it with (game mod) (pronouns).
also just realised rules are hidden in the support hub, bad move should be its own tab at best.
i assume he thought all moderators handle "big youtube" cheaters like the java team treated dream at the start.
its multiple accounts of cheating. But you get your second chance after you get caught generally. No cheater ever only cheated only once, and nobody thinks they only cheated once. So there are only two options: giving out the option to come clean after they are caught maybe some months maybe years of ban (depending on how bad and if they actually regret it) and then let them back with more supervision and requirements or just permaban from the start.
Everything else is honestly insincere and a waste of discussion.
7353 80085
should be categories like 42069 because unlike dank/nice those numbers are true classics
"but can believe he forgot which runs where his and which werent." this is why multiple people said he should wipe his runs exept mayde those done so that its proven to be him. Also if he comes back and people just find one video which is also stolen he is really gone.
@Viper also when you ask why other small cheaters arent talked about: these arent generally as known as youtuber/moderators like jaypin. And as a moderator of some games he should be held to a higher standard.. unbanning without removing those roles is also problematic.
cheaters especially plagarism isnt about one community alone. we have this all encompassing website but want to deal on cheaters on a game by game at best series level? this just makes that cheaters will move. i am not advocating for a permaban but a few months is a bit low. Also keeping cheaters at a position of power isnt liked to be seen from the greater src community.
tldr: just add something like a cheaters badge which marks people, doesnt need to be a ban.
honestly the problem isnt that he is allowed back. its more that it was quite fast and that he still moderates games. you can allow former cheaters back into the community but you dont really want them to moderate boards.
I dont like discord. but the barebone features of discord are more than enough to run a community on it. also many speedrun communities have links to the general gaming community of their respective franchise. And those are on discord again. Its not like you would just leave because of speedrunning. Discord is probably here to stay and mostly because it is a slack which was able to get broad use.
bold assumption that a mod chat wont have the same problems as private messages
