Just watch a few runs, write down their route and do it yourself, this is seriously one of the easiest games to speedrun and it's short as well, there should be no barriers to this with regards to difficulty or time
Ahhhh, I see what you mean now. I don't know a solution to that specific problem but I found this on a search, you might want to reach out to carci
https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/76ou9g/how_can_i_use_livesplits_autosplitter_with_a/
I'm still confused though, why don't you just put the timer on your second monitor so it's not over the game?
Why do you need to click livesplit while doing a run?
I also like it, dividing up both FPS and out of bounds is real nice.
no one is forbidding you from doing segmented runs at all though, this is a website for single segment runs so segmented doesn't have a place here.
you can still submit runs even if you dont have 120 fps and that ends up being the cap
what is the issue here
the beauty of doing speedruns is that you don't need to have a leaderboard to validate them, you can do them however you like btw
but it looks like you just want to complain for the sake of complaining, so just go make your other website if you think there is elitism happening here
Nothing is stopping you from doing runs how you like, but segmented is a relic from the past that has nothing to do with a competitive website that is entirely focused on single segment runs.
My only opinion is that if you want to have a flourishing community around a game, it needs to be accessible as much as possible. By placing arbitrary restrictions on run submissions, it's a guarantee that less people will want to submit, therefore the "main" categories should be as close as possible to simply starting the game and recording it. Having the run set at 60 FPS succeeds in that regard because it's an option in menu and one that it appears most people have no issue with capping.
There are going to be people on both ends that are unhappy with the final result, I personally don't care what happens because I plan to upgrade my PC anyways soon enough and be competitive on the board. You can always revisit the decision in a month or two when 90% of the people posting in this thread have completed their one run and don't plan to ever play the game again.
just how different is no item box though? Claire A uses the item box once and a workaround to that is just using up the key items so you can discard them instead, which only should add a couple minutes to the run
But it's not about nerfing the knife at all, it's about setting a fair middleground people can do runs at instead of having the leaderboard decided by whomever can get the most framerate
lmao at just assuming anyone who wants the 60 cap has no idea how to optimize their computer or plans to leave after one run
Just set up the leaderboard like old RE2:
PC, Console Leon A, Claire A, Leon B, Claire B NMG (60 fps), any% (Variable) Assisted, Standard, Hardcore
Like all resident evils, there's going to be a fuckton of categories because of all the different ways to play. 60 FPS should definitely be a thing because of the knife. Have runners either display FPS or show it in menu before/after the run.
It's been a while since I've ran glitchless, but you can probably just route in some more gems for potions to make up for the more magic that scimitar uses in the later patches
Also, if you spend too much time upstairs, the enemies will spawn.
