With lots of interest in speedrunning the recently released Archie Collab, we've created a leaderboard page for it, which you can find at https://www.speedrun.com/Archie_Collab. The leaderboard has an IL page for clearing each level, and then the following fullgame categories:
-
Any% (collecting the lobby heart)
-
Difficulty Sampler (one green, yellow, red, and cracked map)
Please note that the only currently accepted map-pack version for submissions is 1.0.3, which releases tomorrow, Sunday Dec 10. This version will patch some skips and make changes that generally affect speedruns. Once that version is live on Gamebanana, feel free to do runs and start submitting them. Enjoy!
We have decided to add the following to the Game Rules on all modded leaderboards:
Save and Quits to replace retries or skip gameplay animations are banned.
This is listed under Game Rules as it applies to both fullgame and IL modded runs. It goes beyond the recently added vanilla rule to functionally blanket ban the use of S+Q's to save IGT, including skipping wakeup animations, heart/cassette cutscenes, etc.
There is always the potential for a custom map to use an unlimited amount of vanilla and custom animations/cutscenes that would incentivise the use of S+Q's to save time, with a real possibility that this would negatively impact said map's speedrun. Given that S+Q's are not yet prominent in modded runs, we decided to nail this down now and introduce a rule that negates any future issues requiring rule adjustments and run retiming.
The wording of this rule still allows S+Q's to deal with unexpected IRL circumstances, manage nerves/tilt, take a quick break, etc, provided they do not occur in advantageous spots. We understand that this flexibility can really help improve the run experience, particularly for ILs like 9D.
The one run we did find on our leaderboards that used an S+Q advantageously has been appropriately retimed, which has been noted in its description. If you notice any runs that we missed or have any issues with the rule change, please contact one of the moderators on this page so we can look into it.
We've added Conqueror's Peak by ricky06 to the Modded Celeste hub page! Download the map here: https://gamebanana.com/mods/348793
There's just one subcategory for Any% to start with, but as usual we're open to adding others (ideas include ARB, Full Clear and Secret/True Ending) if concrete interest is expressed; reach out to any Modded Celeste moderator with your submittable run(s) if you'd like to see those in action.
As always, you can submit other custom maps for leaderboard consideration at https://forms.gle/4FeDkbvj2s3V1w6i8
Thanks and have a wonderful week :)
We've added Extremelyadequatemap by Marlin to the Modded Celeste leaderboard page! It's been placed under Misc since that's where the other two Marlin maps are housed, and to anybody who is wondering why those are in Misc, I quote Marlin: "they are there cause i put them there and didnt think they deserved to be anywhere else". Download the map here: https://gamebanana.com/mods/343501
We've started with just one subcategory for Any%, but we're open to adding an All Red Berries category if we see some concrete interest in that. Feel free to DM any of the Modded Celeste moderators to express that interest to us. Edit: That concrete interest has been expressed to us, so ARB has now been added!
We hope you enjoy running this exceptionally sufficient map :D
From the initial wave of responses to our new Mod/Map Submission Form, we've created a new category for runs of Cat Isle by Jadeturtle! We've started with just one subcategory for Any%, but we are open to adding an All Red Berries category if we see some interest in that. Download the map here: https://gamebanana.com/mods/332117
Responses to all submissions (accepted and denied) can always be found at https://bit.ly/CelesteSRCModsSheet on the 'Custom Maps/Map Packs' sheet. We very much enjoy seeing interest in Celeste Custom Map speedrunning, so please continue using the form at https://forms.gle/4FeDkbvj2s3V1w6i8 to submit any mods/maps you would like us to consider. Enjoy petting some kitties! :catresort:
With so many skilled runners putting together impressive runs of the many quality Celeste custom maps, we've put in some work to help encourage this interest. Namely, we've formalised the process of submitting mods/map packs to be considered for SRC.
First, we have created a permanent form through which runners may submit either:
- A cosmetic/utility mod to be allowed for submissions across all modded leaderboards, or
- A custom map/map pack to be given a leaderboard.
The form can be found here: https://forms.gle/4FeDkbvj2s3V1w6i8 and is also linked in the forum of this hub leaderboard. This form should provide a better line of communication to express interest in a mod/map to our team, in turn helping us better understand the community’s interests.
After evaluation, we will post decisions to this spreadsheet: https://bit.ly/CelesteSRCModsSheet and notify the submitter via their provided contact info. All rejections will come with a reason so that you can fully understand our point of view, and if you disagree with the provided rationale, you are welcome to DM a moderator of Custom Map Leaderboards so that we may discuss it further.
We have also updated the rule regarding use of mods to include a link to this sheet for direct access, and an additional note to clarify how we intend to enforce this rule:
Runs that use any mod feature that has not been explicitly allowed on this sheet are at full risk of rejection. Unpermitted mods do not need to be blacklisted/disabled as long as their features will not be in effect during the run.
Finally, a quick reminder to keep all of your mods up-to-date and to stay on the latest Everest stable build. We generally apply a 2-3 week leniency period from the date of play to allow for some wiggle room. If you fall outside of this window, then expect your run to be rejected.
