european game version, console is a new 2ds xl, also european region, system language is set to german, the softlock occured after first striking the shrooblet on the second mushroom platform with enemies on them (the platform directly after the one with stuffwells battle tutorial), no action command on the first strike/attack jump on both enemies from mario, after mario went back to his normal battle position, the battle menus didn't show up and i got stuck in an endless loop of the battle music and "idle" animations of mario, luigi and both shrooblets, which is what i managed to take a video of (). as demonstrated in the video there is nothing you can do except reset the game and continue from the last save block.
