1: Yes, you can just videotape your run using your phone most of the time, unless the rules specifically tell you not to.
2: Autosplitters only work on pc games and emulators, if you're running on console, you have to split manually.
Currently there's no official discord server just for grapple speedrunning, we talk about the speedrun in Barji's discord server which is the developer's discord.
Just go to his youtube channel and you should find a link to his discord. I don't have perms to invite people unfortunately.
Since src isn't the most crowded website, it really isn't that hard to get a username of your liking. But what about other websites/games that are WAY more crowded than src?
For example: My name in src is Output. Since output is a pretty common word and it's usually always taken, my username in other platforms would be ActuallyOutput.
I think it just means that you need video proof for the whole run. Don't know why the leaderboard mods wrote "RTA video proof" since RTA is a timing method, not a form of video proof.
Well if you don't want to run doom in windowed mode, I would recommend lowering your monitor's resolution from 1080p to 900p/720p so that doom doesn't have to render as much pixels.
Here's the invite to the Speedrun Tool Development discord server btw: https://discord.gg/bPppfqR28G
Just head to the "commissions" channel to commission someone
For one of the games I speedrun, there's no subcategories. But right now, we're planning on making some. The problem is we don't know how to transfer the already existing runs to those subcategories.
The most common method is either Nohboard or an Input Overlay plugin for OBS. The difference is that Nohboard is a seperate program that you have to use a window capture on OBS to record while the Input Overlay plugin is an OBS plugin meaning it doesn't require any additional software to run. The input overlay that is used in that video is Nohboard.

Btw, I personally think Nohboard is easier to setup and rearrange the keys since it's more straight forward while the Input Overlay Plugin is quite confusing if you don't know what you're doing.
I was just about to write a new thread regarding the same issue but I guess you beat me to it
