If you start a fresh file of the game then there is no mega level digimon available, at all.
Considering this any% is pretty much any% NG+ and any% (rookie) the real any% because you have to choose a digimon which is available from the beginning.
Good point, but I don't think these category names are appropriate because NG+ might be confusing on this game, because there isn't much that you can unlock anyway. But any% (mega) and any% (rookie) describes the categories quite well.
My opionion though.
P.S. welcome to Digimon Rumble Arena
SNES isn't bad either, because of many classics like Super Mario World and Zelda Alttp. But N64 seems unbeatable.
Hey there. So do you have any requirements of the games we may run? Like length, certain gernres? Should the game be well-known or do you just want to have a wide spread selection of games? Is it more of a serious nature or would it be an option if you also choose games which aren't totally marathon-safe? Like where breaking the estimate may happen because you might need to recover from bad rng or stuff.
Regardless, I think I might submit, I still have to check if I have time on March/April and I'm still not sure which game too choose. I might go for Pokemon FireRed or Digimon World which have moderate lengths, or take some short games like Digimon Rumble Arena, Kid Klown in Crazy Chase etc.
If I can not participate then I might at least watch the marathon, so let's see how things turn out.
Hdot
Think for a while. Think of the very first game you had so much fun with that you always wanted to play. Choose that one and then advance if you feel like playing another one of those games.
I heard of speedrunning before, but I never really got into it, because I did not get why there is such a passion for it. Then I found GDQ and this made me understand somehow.
My favourite run was Yoshi 100% by Trihex and this made me think that this speedrunning thing must be the most fun thing yet competitive one can do with games. I continued watching Fire Red any% by MBM and I liked it a lot. I also discovered werster and how he destroyed nearly every Pokemon game. I got a huge fan instantly.
Then I decided that I wanted to get started with speedrunning and searched for a game I might be capable of running. I remembered Pokemon Fire Red by MBM..
This is how it all began.
