All good! You live and you learn :3
As for your question, yes, i do happen to be that Blue.
If you ever have any more questions regarding the community and stuff, my DM’s are open too! I’d love to help out since i’ve been here a while now hehe
Maybe consider building a presence in the community before starting to commentate upon other people’s achievements, especially when doing so in a comparative manner while posing as an authority on the subject. You doing this out of nowhere while pinning runners’ achievements againt each other comes off as (and i might be too harsh here, please correct me if i am) one of those youtube commenters that watches a single video on a topic then goes and declares themselves an armchair expert on the subject. I don’t mean to be mean or discouraging here, it’s just that a lot of runners deal with this sort of experience a lot and it gets quite tiring. I myslef have had extensive backseating, incessant pointing out of things and unnecessary critiques of my runs, cheating accusations even from people that clearly haven’t speedrun the game even once. And I don’t mean that in a “you have to be a world record holder to comment on other runs” kinda way or anything. My intention is not to be elitist here (once again please let me know if I am being)
My general advice from this situation, as many people have pointed out already, is the following.
Do a few runs, gain familiarity and get to know the speedrunning community (links to the speedrun discord are pinned to the side) and then in a bit, it would be more appropriate to “commentate” over happenings in the speedrunning world like this.
As long as the run follows the rules (Is done in a single segment etc), it should be fine! However, it's gonna probably take ages for it to be verified due to the long runtime haha
As long as the run is single segment (is filmed in a single session) and follows the submission rules then you can submit it regardless of the time, assuming the run is in good spirit and you did it with the intention to speedrun.
Very long runs will probably not get verified if it is clear you are making them long to waste the moderators' time however-
Basically, as long as you're not trolling, longer or slower runs will be completely fine! They might take a little bit longer to be verified if they are long however
This is a common issue if you have inputs mapped to mouse keys on 1221. To solve this, there is a program in the #resources channel on the Hollow Knight discord called "Blue.exe" which when run makes your left click press H and your right click press T. All you need to do is run this program when playing the game and remap your left and right click inputs to H and T ingame!
if you're interested in a similar category, check out Great Hopper%, which is already very similar to what you're describing, since both categories pretty much involve an early rush to Kingdom's Edge with some pretty cursed and cool skips
the basic idea is to get to the stagnest as quickly as possible WITHOUT using the skip in Howling Cliffs, which means opening all the stag stations as quickly as possible.
