Aribuge nice job on any% 1.4.3.2 record, current patch speedruns are pretty darn difficult, and I can't imagine the pressure of winning by only 4 seconds and having to do everything perfectly at the end.

Also Violetblight took the 107% All bosses record, good for them, but I think you can take the time back. The movements you make are so precise I wish I was that good at hollow knight speedrunning.

EDIT: Just trying to look at this from Violetblight's perspective, this is my first post, so I can understand why I would seem obsessive over this 1 runner when it's my first post, but I don't understand how I was "trying to put down other people's achivements". I guess "good for them" can be considered a negative connatation, but that wasn't what I was trying to do. When I post again though, I do think it was wrong to be that complimentary, so you do have a point there. For anyone that sees this have a good day! Hopefully that clarified things a bit better than the original post.

Thanks for being weirdly latched onto one specific runner and also putting down other people’s achievements at the same time, it’s not weird in the slightest. Also 107’s addon is all bosses, not TE.

I wasn't trying to put down your achivements, 107% is a hard catagory and getting the record is very impressive, I just saw he got a record and wanted to congratulate him. You are obviously an amazing speedrunner. And no, I am not latched onto 1 certain runner, it is just an impressive speedrun and a new wr in a catagory.

Maybe consider building a presence in the community before starting to commentate upon other people’s achievements, especially when doing so in a comparative manner while posing as an authority on the subject. You doing this out of nowhere while pinning runners’ achievements againt each other comes off as (and i might be too harsh here, please correct me if i am) one of those youtube commenters that watches a single video on a topic then goes and declares themselves an armchair expert on the subject. I don’t mean to be mean or discouraging here, it’s just that a lot of runners deal with this sort of experience a lot and it gets quite tiring. I myslef have had extensive backseating, incessant pointing out of things and unnecessary critiques of my runs, cheating accusations even from people that clearly haven’t speedrun the game even once. And I don’t mean that in a “you have to be a world record holder to comment on other runs” kinda way or anything. My intention is not to be elitist here (once again please let me know if I am being)

My general advice from this situation, as many people have pointed out already, is the following.

Do a few runs, gain familiarity and get to know the speedrunning community (links to the speedrun discord are pinned to the side) and then in a bit, it would be more appropriate to “commentate” over happenings in the speedrunning world like this.

First of all, I know you didn't mean offense, but I have played Hollow knight, watched hundreds of informative videos on lore, speedruns, and other stuff, but other than that I agree with you, I have been really, just forceful and I apolgize. I would love to join the speedrun discord by the way, and are you the same blue who has the 0 geo wr? If so, I've seen your videos, and they are awesome. Also I am planning a few speedruns on deltarune and possible some pantheon runs for hollow Knight, but both runs I am more familarizing myself with instead of just trying without any practice. What I did might not have been the biggest offense, but I know that it was wrong and too much. Another thing that might make it weirder is me doing it on speedrun.com, if I had just made a twitter account for a page for speedrunning achivements most likely the runners in question wouldn't find it as weird as on the site they speedrun on. Just know i won't be posting as much on the board and I love the community, and also that I am deeply sorry.
