Welp. Another run deleted. A mod claimed that I did not use video "though I really did use four videos". Another moderator deleted my run for "pausing the timer" and I didn't even do that at all. I'm gonna go nuts if they continue deleting my runs even if I don't pause the timer! If they continue to do this, I will get angry. It used to be not 100% RTA but now it is, straining my eyes SO MUCH.
It’s probably worth it to review your own footage to see if the moderators’ claims are actually true. Maybe they noticed something that you didn’t. There’s no use trying to call them out here. I understand that situations like this are frustrating, but may I also suggest taking a calmer approach. Maybe the mods are wrong, maybe they’re right, but they are also humans like you and I. Cut the attitude, because they’ll be less likely to help you if you approach them this way.
@Toogs, this is the worst day ever! I really did it all at once, but restarted the game 2 times due to glitches. The timer kept pausing over and over for me, resulting in the run's deletion. You can see the banned run here: https://www.speedrun.com/smg2/run/m77q815m I am in EXTREME danger of getting all my full-game and level runs being deleted. Are custom routes allowed or banned for runs?
Well here’s the other thing. You can’t submit a TA run to an RTA leaderboard. That just wouldn’t be fair. As for the other oddities, those can simply be remedied by starting a new recording before each attempt (at least, that’s how I do it). And obviously it also helps if your run is done RTA, if you want to submit it to the leaderboard. Hope that helps a little bit.
As for the “custom route” question, no, there is nothing wrong with using a custom route for your runs. As long as you follow the timing rules, and you get the correct amount of Stars (in this case, 71), you’re good. The route posted in the resources tab is there as a recommendation to both new and experienced runners, because it has been tested and proven to be the best route (er, until someone finds an improvement) for runs. But if you want to use your own route, that’s absolutely fine. Just understand that you will likely lose time to the fastest route.
I don't think that's going to work now. I failed to do it on Real-time, (that is, don't even pause timers). The result: Deletion of run, all runs terminated, and it was done on TA. Why would they add a pause hotkey for LiveSplit, anyway? But thanks for the reply. I might get no comets or comet medals throughout the run. Here's how long it took for me to get that much stars: 9 Stars - 42:07 20 Stars - 1:31:44 33 Stars - 2:44:36 45 Stars - 3:43:25 59 Stars - 4:56:56 71 Stars - 6:21:59
Bro you can literally just…disable the pause hotkey, and do another run with the tips I gave you (whenever you have time for it). Just because this run was rejected doesn’t mean all of your runs will be rejected forever and ever. You just need to fix the mistakes that the mods are pointing out. They’re trying to help you, believe it or not.
The pause key is there so that u have the option for TA runs, but that doesn’t make them legal. Please refer to the rules before attacking the moderation team publicly.
The real time of your speedrun is 22hrs and 15 minutes, assuming it only took you 2 days. If it took you 3, it’d be 46hrs and 15 minutes. You only show 7hrs worth of footage, meaning at least 15 hours of footage is missing, this the run can not be verified.
@Shadow64, I know that my run was deleted, my eyes would be strained badly if I did it in a single segment. The chance of doing a run for me is 0.1%. As a result, the full-game run by me was terminated. I'd not recommend anyone doing these runs, because it could damage my vision badly. I was only able to show 6 and a half hours of footage before my storage was completely used up.
In your case, I suggest practicing more first to get your time down before attempting a full game run.
I have practiced before, and when I tried to do a run the first time, I failed on Melty Monster 2 constantly, but now I have beaten my goal which was a sub 6:30. I died around 15-20 times throughout the run.
not realy sure how is everything going in this thread but just know that, if the problem is in that submission you definitely cant cut the video like that
It would appear as though you submitted a TA run that had been cut together to create the appearance of an RTA run. TA runs are not permitted so I'm not sure why you are surprised. This speedrun community is pretty serious. They had to consider not verifying my run simply because there was no game audio in the first ~20 minutes. Just try to get an RTA run with game audio and no cuts and it will most likely stay up. Just read and abide by the rules. That part isn't hard. Good luck with getting a full RTA run!
You seem to be extremely dense. you cant pause the timer and cut the video at all. just because you cant do a full RTA run, that doesnt mean that you are therefore entitled to special conditions. All runs submitted to the leaderboards must be done RTA in this day and age.
Hey SMG2 runners! Recently, a new major skip was discovered that skips the entire Bowser dialogue in the prologue. This skip had been theorized by a few TASers (PurpleSun and Shadow64) several years ago, but now has become a reality thanks to Sheep, a romhacker and creator of the SMG2 Kaizo hack Blu
