The main strategy this run uses is the smoke + shield gen relay strat. To do it, I smoke the drill and throw a shield gen relay away from me to act as a distraction. This lets me interact with the terminal undetected for the subobjectives, and lets me get to the second sample of the main objective before having to pull back. I clear out the bots before collecting the last sample with the plan to hit the drill and then upload while the dropships are still landing troops. I've found this strategy to be the fastest and most reliable way to deal with the hordes of powerful heavies geo survey spawns since you clear less enemies off the drill.
The seed was definitely a big factor in the time here. On top of having the ideal placement of POIs this map also featured only 1 light outpost and 1 medium outpost, the bare minimum! The side objectives weren't bad either. I recently learned how to throw the artillery shells, which I use a bit for the SEAF.
I didn't really care about my deaths because I expect to die a lot in geo survey and they didn't cost me much time. There is so much fighting and it's so random what even spawns, trying to go deathless in a speedrun on this mission is just an exercise in resetting, at least for solo play.
I can't explain why I didn't get bot dropped on the first subobjective and the first sample of main. I would love to know how that happened because it would really help my future runs but I haven't been able to consistently cause it. I just got lucky here, my practice run of this seed had drops at every normal point.
Following the recent DSS changes, a minor edit has been made to the new DSS submission rules;
You may submit a run with DSS on your planet if it is inactive (show on video), or if all POVs are shown, and no stratagems or other benefits provided by the DSS are used.
