Just wanted to report that the "MODERATED GAMES" list under the "About" section of a runner's profile doesn't update any longer. If you get added a new game, it doesn't update, even after weeks of waiting.
Also, the "Series Moderated" list is no longer available since the new site came out.
Hopefully you guys will fix that.

Not sure if anyone has noticed but the Old/Japanese layout is MORE than just swapping a few stages around! They modified the stages themselves also! I was really surprised! They feel very similar to the Genesis version.

Just wanted to let you know I've moved Freestyle to its own category. It didn't make any sense to have it as a sub-category for each goal. In the game, it is also an Any% in-game leaderboard. I can revert the changes if need be but I'm pretty sure everyone will prefer it the way it is now.

Hey guys, Just a personal suggestion. I think more people would be interested in running this game if the courses were "full-game categories" instead of "level runs", kinda like the Genesis version. I know plenty of people who don't care about level runs.

To summarize and in order to guide newcomers, the current medal holders [@chessjerk @MasterSystemMarceau @JFred99] + @Nimn_One and @AlphaNerd have all agreed to run the game at 60Hz when it comes to medal runs. It's not a rule from the moderation team, it's just something we decided to do between us.
Remember, if you're driving at 293km/h at 60Hz (the full speed in OutRun SMS), it means you're driving at 83% of the speed at 50Hz and therefore driving at 243km/h, which makes it a lot easier and not competing on the same level as other runners.
Again, this is not a rule from the moderation team. Feel free to upload runs at 50Hz but we would like to kindly unofficially ask you to upload runs at 60Hz if you're going for a medal.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to perform the gear gacha on Genesis. It's pretty easy to do on the Arcade version but I tried yesterday while streaming on Twitch and I can't pull it off on the Genesis version.

With all due respect, not sure if you're aware, but I see many uploads from Replay & Longplay channels in the leaderboards. Those are probably ALL Tool-Assisted runs. Those channels just upload TAS runs to have plenty of playthroughs on their channels, not for Speedrun dot com purposes, this is also why they don't upload anything here themselves.
Another example, "RetroLongplay" is currently running a Tool-Assisted Marathon right now on Twitch and they just ran TAS of Super Hang-On, Rad Mobile, OutRun Genesis, OutRun SMS, OutRunners Genesis, Virtua Racing, OutRun 2019, OutRun TG-19, OutRun Saturn and many more! Those runs shouldn't be on the leaderboard unless under a TAS category. I know for a fact AL82 Longplay and RX from Replay Burners are examples of TAS that shouldn't be there.
Hopefully I don't hurt anyone's feelings with this post but I wanted to let you guys know.

One other thing, the runs made by "AFB" are not made by a real person, those are TAS. I made a video here with more explanation: Replay Burners is a channel filled with anonymous perfect runs made by TAS.

I was playing Goal B and all my 5 stages (except 1) were under the minute mark but I was still getting a time of 5'10"710 and, because I was just done playing the PC Engine version where the clock is also broken, that's when I realized the OutRun Arcade timer is also completely random and broken!
Here are the splits for everyone's Goal B so you can better understand:

I can't believe that in -36 YEARS- nobody noticed this before!!! I know it's a lot of work but I believe everyone's run should be recounted if we want it to be fair. I also believe btrim is MIA and if anyone would like me to help, I'd be happy to join the mod team and do the recount for everyone.
Note that the PC Engine and Arcade versions of OutRun have a broken timer but the Genesis, Master System and Game Gear version do NOT.

Hello folks, I had requested Special Criminal Investigation (SMS) to be added as a new game and mentioned it was part of the Chase H.Q. series but that wasn't added. It is indeed Chase H.Q. II for Sega Master System (proof here: https://segaretro.org/Special_Criminal_Investigation). Can a global mod add Special Criminal Investigation to the Chase H.Q. series please? Only a global mod can do it. Thank you.
