Hey guys, Just a personal suggestion. I think more people would be interested in running this game if the courses were "full-game categories" instead of "level runs", kinda like the Genesis version. I know plenty of people who don't care about level runs.
They are literally levels, so this seems like a strange take. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but if someone refuses to run a category because it is called a level category, regardless of the content of the run itself, that's just downright strange and they should perhaps reconsider their priorities.
A full-game run would be something like "all courses." Changing the existing organization to appease someone's preferred naming conventions seems a bit silly.
Hey guys,
To be honest my first reaction is similar to Art_Izon, I wouldn't have thought that this naming convention would discourage potential runners. But considering the lack of activity on these boards ... well, we have nothing to lose really. I guess it's worth giving it a try !
I'm taking this opportunity to add you as a moderator, MSMarceau : feel free to implement your ideas of more attractive categories, and let's cross fingers for new challengers at some point. Whatever works to give this game the love it deserves ! :D
I personally don't see a problem running level runs as I did run some goals on this board but yeah, I know of OutRunners who told me they are not interested in level runs. I guess it's because they are not showing up immediately when you go onto someone's profile.
All other OutRun games have each goals as full-game categories except this one so it also makes sense to harmonize, IMO. I'll go ahead and take care of this tonight and make it attractive 😊.
Done! I've redesigned the leaderboard to be consistent to the other OutRun games, hopefully you guys like what you see! 😊
Excellent ! At first sight this new organization seems to work like a charm, and it might be even easier to navigate actually.
I didn't think about how level runs are separated from full runs on a user profile, but now this migration makes even more sense for me.
Thank you MSM !
