It's simply due to that being the latest version at the time those runs occured. That version isn't supported anymore and the runs are just there for historical value. The newest versions simply don't have as many people interested in running (except for One Badge, probably due to it being a short category). You can just run on the newest versions (which would be better to run given the updates since 2.0 Baby).
You probably should go re-watch the anime, Ash doesn't actually catch the Haunter. They just ""become friends"" and agree to ""help out"".
Haunter in the actual fight didn't actually fight either (instead just being silly to make Sabrina laugh) and was acting on its own.
Defeating "Red" is the traditional end point for Gen 2 Any%, and has been the case since the board was created.
Start from New Game.
Run ends upon closing the last textbox of the Mt. Silver Challenger after defeating them.
From the Any% rules.
Updates - 17 June 2021
A relatively minor update, I've updated the Manipless rules following a suggestion from pokeguy to re-word how the lottery attendant is handled, now just banning winning from the lottery (which prevents abuse of the intended rules still, but doesn't automatically invalidate a run if someone accidentally talks to the lottery attendant).
Updates - 23 April 2021
BGB 1.5.9 was released today, with minor improvements to speedrun mode (blocking cheat codes rather than just announcing their use), along with general accuracy improvements. The new release will be required for runs starting 23 April 2021, and users should update as soon as possible. Settings (relatively) haven't changed, so the old set of images still applies for verifying settings.
On a minor note, runs will be requiring audio present as much as possible throughout runs. This has unofficially/inconsistency been the ruling for a while, but it is now written in the misc. rules.
To chime in on this 3 month old discussion (lol), ISO loaders being considered as emulation should be more blamed on SRC limitations if anything. The only thing SRC lets the leaderboards auto hide is emulator, you can't do the same for other variables. So if ISO loaders were allowed, you would either have to go attach the emu label on them so they are auto hidden, or you would have to go something along the lines on how the 3DS Pokemon games handle NTR (separate subcategory that groups emulator and NTR together, for this case it would be emu/iso loader). Really, any time it is said that iso loaders are "considered emulation" it's not literally considered emulation, but rather their place on the leaderboard would be the same as emulator runs (ie hidden or separated from main runs).
Also, you can't reset the patch. You're stuck on 1.2.0+
(well, physical can technically downgrade, but it requires factory resetting the switch and never connecting to the internet ever again on that switch)
As a note, this glitch will be fixed in 2.1, and the glitched category will stop accepting submissions sometime after that is released (probably 30 days after release 2.0 BABY runs will be permanently put on freeze).
"If recording via webcam, footage must be clear and visible at all times."
From the rules :>
(this of course applies to any camera, not just webcams)
Slowpoke cinematic doesn't happen in runs. There isn't any timeloss for actual runs from the update.
It's essentially NSC ruleset, but with the added restriction that you aren't allowed to use Select Glitches.
Run:
General notes on the route: https://pastebin.com/iDKwArU9
Also minor note, this route only works on v1.1 of the game due to data shifts between v1.0 and v1.1.
Mostly just follow the guides for the respective games, also note the Candyfloss route for Sword is much more beginner friendly.
can someone add Vilepume% to trade alt mains?
The BIOS files are supposed to be .bin files, the emulator will let you select a BIOS file after you attempt to load a ROM.
The closest thing to a 100% really is Catch em' All, gl with that lol
Hello, I am requesting Crystal Clear to be put into the Pokemon Fan Games series. For whatever reason it was put as a ROM Hack of Pokemon Crystal when the board was created (I believe it was made before that series became a thing, although I wasn't around then so might be wrong on that). I am currently the only active mod on the board, and the Super Mod has been inactive (has not talked in the Discord server since 9/29/2019, and doesn't respond to pings). Link to the board: https://www.speedrun.com/Crystal_Clear
EDIT: Apparently the Super Mod finally responded to DMs lol, he'll probably post here soon for confirmation we want to do this.
Sorry for the late response, but simply, no. There is no official 3DS release anyways, you'd have to build the CIA yourself and inject it (which is not going to be allowed). VC is an emulator and a very bad one, and only reason it gets a pass on the official PSR boards on official games (assuming glitchless) is because it's official and doesn't have framerate issues. CC doesn't pass that first requirement so it's never going to be allowed.
