Zelpiku and a few other runners have been anonymized on the board by their own choice, not all anonymous players have done anything wrong. Anonymizing runs is done by changing the player name to disconnect them from any actual accounts, so it's completely independent of the player still having an SRC account.
And yeah, Guy's runs were fully deleted shortly after the zoomers were anonymized and he tried to circumvent/mock that decision by renaming his socials to "Anonymous (8)", it had nothing to do with the disc drive stuff which was researched much later.
Hi, you're unbanned now, sorry about the delay
Looking good, but "Speedrun" refers to the activity, which exists beyond the leaderboard site "Speedrun.com"
Hi! There are a few ways to clip into the Corona Mountain entrance early, but unfortunately the loading zone isn't actually there until the flood, so nothing happens... If it were there from the start, any% would last under 10 minutes, including just over 6 minutes in cutscenes
1:08 was the time recorded by TASVideos, but Zelpiku's original recording of that TAS was a 1:07:52. Still, while technically possible, the movement is way too precise to realistically be achieved in real time. As for 1:12, we've had runners that could have had it, but they're not running SMS at the moment so it may take a bit longer.
If you don't retry segments it'd be called Time Attack (TA for short), which was the standard a while ago. Nowadays, in order to be on the leaderboard, a run must be done in one segment without pausing the timer.
Otherwise SRC would treat them all as the same account, only show one of them by default, and treat the rest as obsolete
And others didn't spend hundreds, hell, even thousands of hours grinding this game just to be bullied off the community by a toxic group. Turns out if you regularly act like a piece of trash, people will want you gone no matter how good you are at video games.
Also "separating the run and the runner" is exactly what we're doing by anonymizing them?
GameCube games don't save to the SD card, they use the specific memory card slots on the top of the Wii, next to the controller ports.
the idea is to bypass every jelly in the game, not necessarily to find anything there, so you can just do Yoshi skip in Pianta 1 even though the loading zone isn't there
Well if anything, allowing segmented runs would make it harder to gain an unfair advantage by splicing, right? But yeah segmented categories have pretty much disappeared in favor of single segment or TAS these days.
It's possible to clip into the entrance to Corona, but the loading zone isn't there until the flood so it doesn't give you anything.
The other categories would exist either way, but the fact that the any% WR is still over an hour long is a pretty good indication that we don't have an instant shortcut to the end
I am also answering your questions tho, just making sure you're aware that this isn't the fastest or easiest setup but you do you
I'm pretty sure homebrew like Swiss can do that, it's just not as easy to set up as it is on Wii. Also there's a load time difference between GC and Wii, and it's bigger than the difference between any versions
You'll want JP 1.0 for long categories because of the load time difference but PAL is only a few seconds off JP for any%
