Keep the RTA boards closed until we find out whether or not the game is going to be patched into oblivion and the run made much longer. Currently the arkveld chainarm bug and tempered monsters have no HP modifier, these two alone getting fixed would drastically increase the length of the run.
PC players have a huge advantage with the ability to downpatch to play this form of the game in the future for the purpose of RTA runs, I feel like a patch restriction similar to the way Elden Ring does it for glitchless would be a good solution for PC runs.
Hello PeachTea! The leaderboards are presently under an embargo until March 28th. Any changes that release then will be taken into consideration. I appreciate your desire to keep the leaderboard fair and we take that into consideration. For the exploits/bugs you mentioned, can you please provide proof or evidence of them? I'm doing research on my side but can only do so much. So please provide anything and everything you've discovered or research.
FYI, PC and Console will experience a split leaderboard. At this time, we've been testing an autosplitter and load remover thats available for all runners to test right now. However, it's only available for PC runs. This coupled with the performance differences between PC and Console was enough to separate the leaderboards. But your concerns are still valid and noted. We just need the help researching this more.

As for Arkveld's chainarms causing double hits, you can watch any blademaster run to see hitting his chainarms does hits to both his chainarm and arms, can't find confirmation that this is a bug but it'll likely be patched before then as well. Glad to know the embargo lasted so far out, it's good to hear how well y'all planned ahead.
Luckily this is my fourth MH release (Iceborne, Rise, Sunbreak before this) so we kinda expect the game to... not work on release lol Plus it gives us time to enjoy the game instead of immediately speedrun it to make rules.
Thanks for the insight. The Chain double hitbox I JUST experienced myself (GP then got hit anyways :) ) We'll see if this stuff gets fixed in the coming weeks.
I disagree with separating PC from console. Arguably counter to crossplay titles. Just utilize platform designators. We just don't allow load removal and properly use splits to account for w/o load times.
Feels pretty one sided against PC players.
It's not "against PC players" but we're providing tools for PC players so everyone can play at the same level. Real Time comparison on PC creates a distinct advantage for runners with better PCs. Some loads are faster than others. Compound those few seconds multiple times over a run and the difference is minutes. As a PC player myself, we need some sort of standardization on PC since there is no standardization on the system running the game.
Because PC runs will default to IGT. Console will remain RTA until we design an autospliter for it.
Its worth noting too that the split is entirely for Fullgame runs. IL leaderboards should be able to be hosted together since the timing method is the same. We're still working on layouts for the leaderboards.

No idea if possible but if we are making tools to give PC players even load times(if that is what I understand from above). Why not just make a tool that starts a timer the instant the boss's HP takes any damage.
Then the timer stops once the boss's HP reaches 0.
That way regardless of what setup you have on PC the timer should be identical across any PC players.
The issues I see with this would all be game related like If X weapon hits more at X FPS. If you can move X faster at X FPS. If you have more I-frames at X FPS. etc etc, if those type of issues exist.
In which case if they do. Then maybe something to equalize the FPS between people is needed. No idea though. Just putting ideas into the air.

Can confirm through my own testing, elemental gun damage doesn't work properly at variable framerates. Anything 35fps or below causes a guaranteed 7 ticks, 60-12 only gives 5. The game is cooked there's way more issues than is worth listing the embargo should probably be extended.
You can setup game version based leaderboards, to cover major patch and balance changes.
