Default Categories (Limited vs Unlimited)

Hi everyone. I wanted to start a discussion about the Limited and Unlimited categories.

To me, the Limited category should be what turns up as the default if someone comes to see the Kenshi leaderboards. The Unlimited category allows mods and devtools like the thing that lets you teleport. When I think of a speedrun, I have two assumptions: 1) these ppl gonna glitch the hell out this game, and 2) they are not going to use a modded version of the game.

I understand the modding community is in integral part of Kenshi, and that the game comes with built-in, easy to use modding tools. But from a speedrun perspective, the original code should be law, at least for the most prominent positions. Otherwise, why not just write a mod that starts me behind Catlon's throne with 100 stealth and assassination.

I had a closer look and you are right about the mods... but I guess what I mean is modifying the game in general should not be the primary category. It's these two parts of the limited rules makes me think that limited should be the main category:

-Using the in-game editor is not allowed -Do not change the default multipliers in the gameplay menu or game start

In-game editor just sounds like modding the game without making a mod. This is what is used to teleport that I was talking about in the original post. I haven't played with it much, but it seems a lot like console commands in other games.

As for the default multipliers, it just seems to me that we should all be playing the same standard game if we are to be comparing times. Changing the game multipliers seems akin to having easy, medium, and hard modes to me, which tend to have their own categories in other games. Maybe I am wrong about how those work in Kenshi, though. Would it be possible to have, say, two very different multiplier configurations that would lend themselves to viable speedruns? Or is just that easier (lower damage, lower hunger, etc) will always be faster?

I'm still learning the game myself, so challenging these rules is also helping me understand why they are what they are.

In the end, I think the category that leaves the game as default as possible should be the most prominent one. Of course that's the category I submitted, so maybe I'm a bit biased.

Happy to hear other folks thoughts on it. Not even sure how it can be changed.

Sorry didn't have power for a few days and meant to respond to this; I am open to adding anything that people want to try, just want a clear fleshed out idea is all.

I don't believe changing the multipliers will honestly make the runs any faster, just more impressive if they're harder (especially in smaller runs because you have to be a lot more consistent), although I'm not against adding a harder multiplier category so people can try and play heavily disadvantaged.
