Alright thank you I was getting ready to start practicing using this version so wanted to clarify where the submission would fit.
Does the Wii really count as a HD edition of the game? The specs in regard to framerate and resolution are essentially the same as the PS2 and GCN since the Wii can't really do better than 480p
So I have the game and can play it via the Dios Mios Wii booter would a run using this still be considered valid? Or if I was to use Dolphin EMU on a PC?
I found this tutorial that shows making the splitter and all it was deleted from pastebin where it was originally posted so I saved it updated it and reuploaded the original http://www.legittorrents.info/index.php?page=torrent-details&id=76437ff7ec0ca8014c199a59e63be4dd2a3da0cf
I added the software and diagrams you need as well for the tutorial. The reuploaded[original] tutorial is (http://pastebin.com/fkJ6h42P) so have fun.
Can we add some Julius and Soma boss rush categories? I've seen them done on GDQ runs after the whole game runs. The feature of the game has an in game timer is it not accurate?
@VB thank's something about that avatar made your post so pleasant XD. I'm probably going to start learning one of the shorter categories it just got here so I am going to watch/read some guides and do the short ones first so that way there's lower chances of there being a hick-up in the video that would invalidate the run.
@GrimLeaper I'll look into it, I really want to do either no 1HP or glitchless so for those longer ones for now I'm probably gonna use an emulator appreciate the direction :D
So I have my copy of this game on its way here, the issue is that I don't have a Retron5 or a GameBoy Player, only a Super GameBoy which won't work for GBA games. So I was considering running via an emulator on my PS2 since I don't have a USB joystick/controller. But would a run be acceptable if the camera is on a tripod pointed at the GameBoy?
I don't have an SP only the old school GBA without a backlight, provided I can get an angle without glare etc, would a run recorded like that be acceptable? I'd obviously have to work out a stand for the GBA as well to keep shaking the screen out of the world of issues.
This is one of my all time favorite games and grew up with it and would speedrun it for fun back when I was 10 before I even knew what speedrunning was. I'd really love to be able to get into it again and try out all the categories.
Chances are the GBA to PS2 emulator doesn't have proper clock speed settings so I'd have to use an approved emulator via PC though if I cannot use the camera to gameboy.
Jeez, the video was a url that should have been embed so I tried adding the iframe to the link but I think that isn't going to help and I'll just have to upload it to youtube instead. It re-submitted the run though, just use the same url as before for now sorry for that.
Ah, that's an odd setting for them to have in the first place. It's alright man and thnx :)
@FairyQueen I'm sorry I'm not sure what you meant by that do you mean the in the submission process I needed to add something? Cause I filled out all the fields and give the proper links, do you need me to upload it to twitch or youtube instead of vid.me?
Awesome glad to help :D do you plan on adding a candy% as well perhaps?
¤MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE GAME ALREADY¤
- Start the timer at the same time as you press Z from the screen that reads "New outfit equipped"
- end the timer when the game says "True end"
Does this mean that only the secondary costume can be equipped for the run to be accepted? Or just that it begins after the costume select menu?
There's already PSX and Emu but shouldn't there also be PS2 and 3? I'm running on a PS2(still yet to get a time worth submitting) and when I go to submit my run what should I put it as just PSX? or wouldn't it techinically be Emu cause the PS2 has different specs than the PSX.
How about there be a tag with the flag of the location that the marathon is to be held, like how users have flags according to their location. Cause most of these events don't have a place where they explicitly set their location without having to make a thread or sticky for it. It'd also help raise interest in events since there'd be a visual for users who are actually closer to a marathon than they would have thought and attended something they otherwise wouldn't have.
I am getting into runs myself and I know six months laterr is a good while but I plan on getting the slash mode done and try for ANY% and maybe Story Mode
I'm not 100% what it is you're looking for but if that is the case there should be a revision of the plugin. Otherwise, using Google Chrome you can Right-Click and select "Inspect / Inspect Element" which will allow you to look into the CSS and sources of the page/chat. I just use a window capture of the Popout version of the chat when I do capture it and use Chroma Key if I want transparency.
