So I have my copy of this game on its way here, the issue is that I don't have a Retron5 or a GameBoy Player, only a Super GameBoy which won't work for GBA games. So I was considering running via an emulator on my PS2 since I don't have a USB joystick/controller. But would a run be acceptable if the camera is on a tripod pointed at the GameBoy?
I don't have an SP only the old school GBA without a backlight, provided I can get an angle without glare etc, would a run recorded like that be acceptable? I'd obviously have to work out a stand for the GBA as well to keep shaking the screen out of the world of issues.
This is one of my all time favorite games and grew up with it and would speedrun it for fun back when I was 10 before I even knew what speedrunning was. I'd really love to be able to get into it again and try out all the categories.
Chances are the GBA to PS2 emulator doesn't have proper clock speed settings so I'd have to use an approved emulator via PC though if I cannot use the camera to gameboy.
We would accept a run that was recorded with a camera at a gameboy as long as the quality was viewable and the game remained on camera at all times (i.e didn't shake so much it went off screen)
@VB thank's something about that avatar made your post so pleasant XD. I'm probably going to start learning one of the shorter categories it just got here so I am going to watch/read some guides and do the short ones first so that way there's lower chances of there being a hick-up in the video that would invalidate the run.
@GrimLeaper I'll look into it, I really want to do either no 1HP or glitchless so for those longer ones for now I'm probably gonna use an emulator appreciate the direction :D
