First of all, hello everyone as this is my first post here :)

Anyway, I followed the English Ben's guide on how to set the game up. The issue I'm having is that the game doesn't start. Below is what I've done and what the state of the game is (not sure what's relevant):

• I have a Steam version
• I deleted all game files and all files inside Documents/GTA Vice City User Files
• Even at this point, gta-vc.exe doesn't run (exe in the task manager just opens and closes almost instantly, no error message appears). testapp.exe works fine. Maybe that's relevant here.
• I copied all game files to a separate folder and ran the Japanese version converter. The conversion ran fine. gta-vc.exe doesn't work in the same way as before the conversion.

I'm on Windows 10 if that's relevant.

2. I just re-downloaded the whole game through steam, aka went to where gta-vc.exe is located, deleted everything and made steam re-verify the files. In other words, I have a fresh steam installation.

Ok just as an update - it's fixed. Turns out rebooting the PC fixes that issue.
