You can use BC PS3. The rules are already updated with it in mind. Just make sure to use actual game disc instead of any iso loading method.
PAL version runs at 50Hz and reduced speed. If you're running PAL it might be that, but if you're running NTSC I'm not sure
Mabufu route is fastest. Worldie has a guide on here
Yes
From what I know japanese isn't faster, it's just the fact that japanese runners are better at the game
Hey guys, I'm not really intersted in running this tbh, but just wondering if console versions are just merged with Arcade or are they just not part of the boards at all
For separating. Runs aren't even remotely similar
Yes, I meant these DLCs where you have cards for clans.
Sadly I don't have any of these DLCs myself and I'm not sure if it's possible to disable them if you have it. If you can't disable them I'll need to look for some solution but allowing it is out of the question since that would make the speedrun Pay to win :(
The categories are not yet made because we don't want the game to be full of blank categories, but if anyone does runs of them, we will make a category, just post it on this forum, or in the discord
Rules are same as Ren's story
Other niche categories like "All stories", or even Plat% could make into the boards potentially (Plat% a bit unlikely though as it requires you to reach certain rank in PvP and online functions aren't healthy for speedrunning)
Xinput plus works for me. Also using controller for flying parts
The thing is, once you setup Xinput based on the guide here, choose "Keyboard+Mouse" in-game if you want to use both and then bind all keyboard and controller buttons
If you choose controller in-game mouse doesn't work and you get that weird auto camera rotation when you move on foot
V sync off makes game run at 120fps (but it makes the game way harder because shadows move way faster)
Turning v sync off makes the game run at same fps as your monitor refresh rate (60 for most people)
Having 120 fps makes fast forwarding way faster though so before ending the dungeon they turn off v sync again
(Also, I believe manips are less consistent with v sync off, not sure on that though)
Yea, emulators save insane amount. What are you suggesting? Split the boards into emu and console? Sadly I think this game has too little runners to do that :D
I was thinking about running this on actual console as well at first. But given the fact I'm in europe and didn't have NTSC PS2 at the time I was like "eh, let's just do emu" :D
I streamed with "retro" category even though it's not really retro 😀
I don't know much, but I know PS4 is basically just PS2 version running on PS2 emu (with ps4's emu bonuses like having 1080p and widescreen)
But basically, I think that anything that works on PS2, works on PS4 as well.
I tried doing the bmx CJ 3d model distortion glitch which is considered PS2 exclusive glitch and it works on PS4
I actually don't know so don't take my answer for granted But I think it may be because it makes the game run at 30fps instead of 25
Hopefully someone else will answer that actually knows
No, it's not based on framerate.
Different aspects of the game advances RNG(like how many stars fall in title screen, the rotating circles in background of velvet room, even birds in shopping district that you can scare away), and there are 2 sets of RNG seeds
I can't really explain it too well but NMarkro has made a tool to track RNG so it is fairly possible to find manips right now.
The skill change manips work but using exact same steps will not because of different loading times and in general of how RNG advances
You can find Megido manip but it will most likely be different from one PC to another as it's looking so far.
The whole skill manip process is a bit hard to explain though and you will need to know how that works before looking for a manip.
I use the same capture card Liv linked. Works with no problem but another 2 issues with that is that it doesn't have "no signal" screen (if you reset console/plug out hdmi cable video just freezes on last frame until signal is back) and it also only supports 720p and 1080p inputs (so if you would ever try getting PS2 or something older into HDMI it wouldn't work with this capture card as that's a 480p signal)
Good capture card is best thing to capture footage and it's what most people use (those things cost around 150 bucks though).
Another free alternative is to use PS4 remote play app and capture what that thing shows in OBS. It sometimes has some hiccups but works mostly fine if you have stable internet
