Hi. I'm very new around here, but I've popped in to see the insane times y'all put up from time to time. I've been playing this game a lot lately for a while now I've been thinking I want to do speedruns of 5R. I'd been hoping that I could find some general information on any specific glitches and stuff that comes into play. Based on what I've seen, there is the general thing of fighting minimally and stuff like that, but for a game this long to be optimized down to 15 and a half hours, I would think that y'all have some stuff here and there. If there's anything y'all could help me learn or find out, it would be great. If not I'll struggle through the 15 hours of watching y'all to try and figure it out.

Gotcha, I'm gonna try and just watch bit by bit the current world record and try and take some notes and then practice it. Thanks for the help. One question for when I eventually get started actually running this with the timer and everything. I'm looking at all the tools, and I'm wondering if there are any that are recommended for specifically capturing the video off the ps4?

Good capture card is best thing to capture footage and it's what most people use (those things cost around 150 bucks though).

Another free alternative is to use PS4 remote play app and capture what that thing shows in OBS. It sometimes has some hiccups but works mostly fine if you have stable internet

I use the same capture card Liv linked. Works with no problem but another 2 issues with that is that it doesn't have "no signal" screen (if you reset console/plug out hdmi cable video just freezes on last frame until signal is back) and it also only supports 720p and 1080p inputs (so if you would ever try getting PS2 or something older into HDMI it wouldn't work with this capture card as that's a 480p signal)
