No point in making saves when you have Retry Checkpoint and Continuing after a death anyways!
Making multiple saves has literally 0 benefits when doing a speedrun of this game.

Video guide by MIKE__WAVE:
With Ditman this skip saves ~38 seconds on 60 FPS and ~11 seconds on 30 FPS. Without Ditman this skip saves around 1 minute.
Both methods work on consoles as well!

We have decided that this type of modification would be allowed!

The mods are discussing this right now! We will get back to you shortly :)
Console runs need to show a video/photo proof of the the final typewriter segment! This is to ensure that runs are single segment, and that runs are not being spliced from a separate save file!
If you are submitting video proof, please do NOT forget to include this in your submission!
Example:
For world record runs, FULL video proof is required, from beginning to end (includes final typewriter save).
The auto splitter got removed from LiveSplit, we are working on a new one at the moment!
We are working on and testing a new one at the moment, since the old one got taken down.
Can you post screenshots? It'll help us figure out what is going on :)
My apologies, MIKE__WAVE and I have been discussing this topic for a while now, even before you started doing runs! For us to verify runs, we check the start (to see which difficulty/save file for NG+ is used), and the end typewriter save to verify that the run is single segment. I forgot that we have not gotten around to officially hash out this new "rule" that we are implementing, so I should not have rejected your previous run. Go ahead and resubmit it and I'll verify it!
In the near future, all runs should only have 1 save, and that is the final typewriter after beating the game. I suggest using LiveSplit on the side for your benefit, or you can manually timestamp your end of chapters as well. Don't forget that going into any typewriter (that is not the final typewriter) counts towards your IGT, so not going into them at the end of the chapter will make your IGT faster overall!
serious question, can i submit a run with voice and sound effects enabled, but no BGM, with have some NCS (NoCopyrightSounds) music in the background?
i'm not modding the game at all, just modifying in game audio settings and playing non-DMCAable music instead
also, i think assisted should be a category alongside standard and hardcore? it doesn't make sense to not have it
Yes, 60 FPS main, would prefer if it was a single 90 FPS category (not a meme)
A serious suggestion here, why don't we just dissolve 60 and 120 FPS to have a single 90 FPS category/filter thing?
90 FPS is much more easily attainable than 120 FPS for the runners with lower end computers, especially with lowering graphics settings, and it looks better than 60 FPS. 120 was an arbitrary number anyways. Anyone that doesn't have a 120 or 144 Hz monitor would need to cap their FPS with a third party program.
I think this could be a middle ground that should be taken into consideration.
?
would abbreviating the 2nd categories as Claire 2/Leon 1 make them all fit on 1 row?
You may need to activate the auto splitter manually every time you open LiveSplit; it's an issue I have!
