Drag and drop the plugin into the components folder in Livesplit. Then, open up Livesplit, go to "edit layout", hit the + button on the top left of the screen, hover over "control" and click "Super Mario Bros. Plugin".
It is illegal to give out a .nes file of the Pellsson ROM (or for any ROM in fact). Though, you can get a patch version of it that is located in "Resources". Just download that along with Lunar IPS (which is also found in "Resources") and patch it with an SMB1 ROM if you have one.
As the cliché saying goes: "Everything happens for a reason."
Also, it'd be great if you also mention what you did to get the right subpixels when you do get them. I might actually try it RTA
I'm pretty sure it's similar to how coins allow you to floorclip but with entities.
If only I could hit walljumps like these in 8-4 :c
My first FPG took 3 days in order to actually get both stair and pole inputs. After you get it the first time, your brain starts to develop some kind of knack for the stair inputs, leading to a more consistent approach when performing the glitch. So don't feel discouraged if you can't get it the first time, it will become much easier over time.
It's illegal to download or distribute ROMs due to copyright infringement. Though, a simple google search would go pretty far.
Wait what? SNESClassic is an accepted platform, is it not?
Is there a way to wall clip on the bottom row? Kind of like the one people used to try in 4-2.
@KOSmIcD15, It's highly unlikely for that to happen since at some point in those years, at least one person would look at their top runs and notice some sort of discrepancy. This has happened before in other categories. Though, if someone manages to mask all the signs of a cheated/spliced run (sharp fluctuations in audio, in-game inaccuracies, L+R movement, etc.), then who knows? There could be an alarming number of cheated runs on the leaderboards not just for SMB1, but for ALL speedrun categories, and we just don't know it. Which is kind of sad to think about...
TL;DR -Use FCEUX if you want a framecounter + built-in input display with the sacrifice of input lag. -But use Nestopia if you want a resource-light emulator with like extremely little input lag.
That wasn't my question though (though I understand, I'm horrible at explaining). I meant I have L+R disabled on Nestopia (meaning pressing L+R outputs nothing). So I could technically opt for doing "R, R+L" instead of "R, Nothing" since they would do the same thing. I was asking if that was allowed
