[big]NES versions and ports[/big]

__Original Release__ Framerate: 39375000/655171 ~= 60.09881387708959 Super Mario Bros. was initially released identically for the Famicom and NTSC NES.

__Famicom Disk System version__ Framerate: 39375000/655171 ~= 60.09881387708959 Almost identical to the original release except for longer boot-up and different Minus Worlds.

__NES PAL version__ Framerate: ~50.0069789081886 Due to PAL systems running at a slower framerate, Mario's movement speed has been increased to counter the effect. Overall this version is still slower than NTSC, but some things that are not possible on the NTSC version work in this one. You can get a 244 in level 8-3 and you can do a full flagpole glitch in every level. It may be possible (but very unlikely) that you can finish the game faster than on NTSC, if you use the flagpole glitch.

__NES multi-game cartridges__ Super Mario Bros. shared a cartridge with

  • Duck Hunt (NTSC and PAL)
  • Duck Hunt and World Class Track Meet (NTSC)
  • Tetris and Nintendo World Cup (PAL) Super Mario Bros. was also part of the Nintendo World Championship 1990 (NTSC). After collecting 50 coins, you go to another game. All these versions seem to be identical to the original.

__Hong Kong NES__ Framerate: ~59.5 (NTSC mode), ? (PAL mode) The Hong Kong NES was officially developed for Hong Kong and allows you to switch between PAL and NTSC mode.

__GBA rereleases__ Framerate: 262144 / 4389 ~= 59.72750056960583 Super Mario Bros. has been part of the Classic NES Series, the Famicom Minis Collection and has been released in a Special Edition for the 25th anniversary.

__Animal Crossing unlockable__ Framerate: ? A GBA port of Super Mario Bros. is in this game, but can only be unlocked with cheats.

__Wii Virtual Console rerelease__ Framerate: ~59.824 (NTSC), ~50.080 (PAL) This version stays very faithful to the original, but due to the framerate it's a bit slower. There is also version, in which the coin block skin is replaced.

__Wii U Virtual Console rerelease__ Framerate: ~59.94 (NTSC), ? (PAL) This version stays very faithful to the original, but due to the framerate it's a bit slower.

__Switch rerelease__ Framerate: 60 (NTSC & PAL) This version stays very faithful to the original, but due to the framerate it's a bit slower.

__Super Smash Bros. Brawl. trial version__ Framerate: ? You can playtest Super Mario Bros. for 1 minute in this game.

Super Mario All-Stars Framerate: 39375000/655171 ~= 60.09881387708959 (SNES NTSC), ~59.824 (Wii NTSC), ? (Wii U NTSC), ? (SNES PAL), ? (Wii PAL), ? (Wii U PAL) Super Mario Bros. has been remade for the SNES and bundled with other games in the series. The graphics have been updated and some glitches are fixed. There is also a version which is bundled with Super Mario World too. It has also been rereleased on the Wii Virtual Console. All these versions are slower than the original and are in their own categories. The Japanese version is faster, because some flagpoles make you drop off more quickly.

Super Mario Bros. Deluxe Framerate: ~61.17045102596282958984 (Super Game Boy 1), ~59.7275005696058 (GB/GBC/GBA/GBP/SGB2) This remake for the GameBoy Color has a different engine and many glitches fixed. It is the only version faster than the original (ignoring NES PAL flagpole glitches and the FDS Minus World ending). It also features a racing mode and a challenge mode.

[big]Different games with a similiar name[/big]

Vs. Super Mario Bros. This is an arcade version of the game with some changes to make the game harder.

All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. This a version with sprite changes and some level changes for the Famicom Disk System. You can play as Luigi in this version.

Super Mario Bros. Special This game was released for the NEC PC-8801 and Sharp X1.

LCD games Many games very different from the original yet featuring the same name have been released on LCD devices.

Super Luigi Bros. Almost the same game but mirrored and with Luigi as the playable character has been released as part of NES Remix 2.

Speed Mario Bros. Almost the same game but in 1.5x speed has been released as part of Ultimate NES Remix.
