This one is a quite big skip found by ZanderGoth:
It skips getting Super Bombs and the end puzzles.
I think it is a good idea to create a Thread where everyone can post Glitches/Tricks/Strats they have found. Feel free to post anything that might be useful!
Why isn't Wii a selectable platform/console?
I don't know much about Wind Waker in case of speedrunning, but someone posted this in a small Twitch chat months ago and I saved it, and he didn't seem to be a troll. It's probably not possible, but I wanted to know if something about this is true or not for a long time:
"You wind waker dive past the loading zone of voiding out, quickly cancel, and out of the cancel have the correct angle where you can hover to the entrance of ganon's tower, where you need to hover high enough, to shoot a kees with a bow, dropping a heart, which you pick up and walk into the tower"
He claimed to have gotten it one time after hours of trying, but again, I don't know if he was serious.
This saves about 0.2 seconds on every level exit/Hub-Door spawn. On Hub Doors only when you don't jump into them though for some reason.
The 3 categories sound like a great idea. I think that there should only be 3 categories (+N64 (Any?)/PS1 subcategories), but I also really like the idea of 3D Gex Any%/100% runs, because the 1st one is really different because of 2D.
PS: I don't think anyone would want to run the GBC Gex games xD They don't even exist on this site yet.
Damn, then the editing was so good that I didn't even notice. great job :P
Awesome showing of the route! Did you really play all of this in one "run" except the Wrong Warp and the Final Level? Because that would be a REALLY good run until WW then :D
Since many people are submitting speedruns that are split into different parts, due to Twitch highlighting, and post the 2nd, 3rd etc. part in the comment (Which can sometimes look distracting when there is also a normal Comment), I had the thought that it would be great if you could link multible videos, so there would also be for example boxes where you can link "Part 2" etc.
What do you think of this and would this be possible to implement? :)
Thanks for explaining, that sounds good! And I don't mind if you put the 100% ending in the video :D
That sounds great :D Doesn't have to be an totally good edited video, as you said it is just meant to show the new Gex 3 route we came up with :)
Also, that it can come down to sub 26 is amazing! I thought sub 30 would be possible, but that it can go "sub No ID" is amazing! :D
The Rez Strat you used in your last 100% run are the fastest, right?
What way seems to be 5 seconds faster? Not skipping the cutscene in Army Channel? :) I personely hate being on the snowboard because it is so hard to hit the elves with it for me. But I don't know, I personely would just do the snowboard skip and mention that it's easier without snowboard, but maybe a little bit faster with snowboard :)
Since the Donkey TV Cancel also only works on NTSC, it would maybe actually be better to just put the NTSC Setup in the video. You could then maybe just put the link to the PAL Setup in the description (And mention it in the video) :P
Also, I did the PAL setup in a normal run I tested on emulator, and it didn't work this time on NTSC emulator. Maybe I just got a lucky savestate when I recorded/tested it, or other things may also influence the Wrong Warp. It definitely works 100% on PAL console (and emu?) though :)
Also, in Army Channel we would get 2 Remotes and 3 Coins, just like in No ID. But would skipping the Cutscene (after hitting all tents) be faster? I think it wouldn't be faster, and the fastest way I THINK would be: Destroy all tents and get hit 3 times from the mines. Go to the Coin in the 2nd area (ontop of that climbable wall) and get hit to respawn beside the TV. After that just the No ID route (Tank Remote + Coin in Tank area, then enter level again and collect last Coin in the underground).
Yeah, that jump doesn't work at all on PS. And collecting the coins after Mythology Network sounds great, haven't thought about that before :P
That sounds great :) And yeah, the first Setup I found apparently works on NTSC Console and NTSC Emulator. The newest I found works 100% consistent on PAL Console, NTSC Emulator and probably PAL Emulator.
Also, what remote do we get again in Tut TV? :)
EDIT: Here is the NTSC WW Setup without Text:
For sure, that sounds great if you want to do that! Should I upload (maybe not listed) the 1st Setup that I found, which is apparently the only one that works on NTSC Console, again one time without text that is showing on the video? Or send it to you somehow? Just if you need it :)
To have a video of the route all the way to WW would be great to have! :) Although a full run would be "better", it would still be awesome to have a video everyone can look at to learn the route (until WW). Just do runs if you feel like you want to do some :P
Awesome! So it takes 22 seconds if you Savewarp?
Btw, I upload the Slappy Valley Clip Setup right now :P Are you gonna record a run of this route sometime? That would be awesome :D
EDIT: Here is the Slappy Valley Clip Setup:
Would the Death TV-Cancel (Deathwarp?) in Mystery TV, that you also used in your 100% runs, safe time and if yes how much?
And after Buccanner Program we have to go back to mission controll. I think the fastest way would be to deathwarp back to the entrance of Lake Flaccid by getting hit 4 times by the TV Enemy infront of the Buccaneer Program TV, but we would also have to compare it to savewarping. I would start timing from pressing "Exit Level" in the level and stop timing when you are infront of the Slappy Valley Door.
Thanks again for putting so much time into this :P
