Hello, I was wondering where I can get the PC version of Gex? I've seen you can buy it on gog.com, but are there any other places where you can get it?
The changes have been made, and that for all 3 Gex games! Thanks to Lighnat0r for setting all that up so fast! :)
Hello, I would like to ask how we can Add N64 and PS1 as subcategories to this leaderboard, so that all the existing runs will also be in the right category afterwards:
It should then be that Any%, No Wrong Warp, and 100% be the "main categories" and N64/PS1 subcategories, but also that No Wrong Warp only shows the N64 subcategory. I hope this is the right place to ask this :)
(I would also like to do the same thing in Gex 1 (http://www.speedrun.com/Gex), then with Any%/100% being the main category and the different consoles the subcategories. Same for the 2nd title, Gex: Enter The Gecko. But mainly for Gex 3 and 1)
Yeah, PS1 would only have 2 categories right now, but I think that's no problem at all :D And you are right, we could do that for all 3 Gex games :) Even though it isn't really "needed" for Gex: Enter The Gecko right now because there will probably only be 2 categories for each PS1 and N64. For Gex 1 and 3 it would be a good improvement also in my opinion :)
Hello Gex 3 community, I had the thought, since the PS1/N64 versions are already considered different categories (because they are quite different), to set N64 and PS1 as "subcategories" and All the categories like Any%, 100%, No Wrong Warp etc. as "main categories". Look at this page if you don't exactly know what it would look like:
http://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/lac6h
I think it would make the leaderboard more clear, since also the "(PS1)" and "(N64)" could be omitted from the category name (On the leaderboards).
Now I want to ask what you guys think about this?
Also, does a Mod know how to set this up, so that also all the existing runs will be in the right category?
Thanks to andypanther, you can now submit your run to the 100% PS leaderboard :)
Definitely Gex: Enter The Gecko and even more Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. Amazing platformers which nearly no one runs. You wouldn't think what an amazing and optimized speedgame Gex 3 is (Only a few people, including me, routed/optimized it in the past months). Any% even involves a Wrong Warp into the final level and it has come down to 26 minutes. There is only one person who runs 100% of this game, but it also looks super fun and it's sub 2.5 hours.

I found this Glitch a few days ago, which also works in Gex 2: Enter The Gecko!
This works in Gex 3 and also in Gex 2, but it sadly takes 1-2 minutes to get this Glitch to work. It might still very useful for things like TV-Cancelling etc!

I made a Document for the differences of the versions of Gex 3, since it is quite useful to know and document this for Speedrun purposes:
If you know any other differences that aren't in there, or if you think something is false, please just write a comment in this Thread! I will then Edit the Pastebin as soon as I can! :)
Yeah, some mod should add a 100% category :)
I'll start with this trick/glitch:
I think this trick has potential to be used in runs in the future. We just have to find a place where it might be useful. The trick is really easy to do: Just tailbounce to the top of a Warpzone (Not loading zone I guess) and hold down right when you enter the zone. If the place where you come out has a wall on that hight then you can go OoB. At least that's I think how it works.
Since the forum here hasn't been used yet I got the idea of this Thread.
Here everyone can post tricks and strats, but also glitches, no matter if they are useful or not. Even really little things, like precise jumps etc. which may not seem useful for any category yet. Everything could be useful in the future!
Would be awesome to see this forum a little bit more active! :)
