i think this is a perfect reminder if you can do a local recording of your run do it.
also be aware that if you are using these gameshark codes do not pick up the box of shotgun shells in the crank save room as it will softlock the game.
not like any runner uses them anyways.
ben, thats the same issue i used to have alot and the problem is you cant carry on the run as it messes up the cutscene as they play too fast from that point onwards
did you give the windows media player trick a try? also id recommend a save point before the annette meeting in the sewers to test things out
the pc version is riddled with problems like the sound cutting off during cut scenes and crashing during FMV's there aren't really any hard fixes , try running a silent video in windows media player and try turning FMV on or off and try again , this is sadly why people have to stick to other versions
EDIT: also try uninstalling the game and reinstalling and starting a new run that sort of used to work for me.
as far as i should know the game only works with 48khz and 44100khz on the sound
i disagree with keeping N64 the only slight populated board is LEON A the rest have 1 time on them
i think ex battle mode category should go as most versions don't have this mode as far as i'm aware.
all scenarios category should go
that's just my opinion.
the only versions i play are PSN on PS3 and EMU, im happy to run EMU if needs be.
what sort of issues are you having? no input? certain buttons not working?
if it is those try giving xpadder a go i remember having to use that on RE2 pc
i use ePSXe as PSXjin will just freeze up on camera transitions and item pick ups also i couldnt get the sound to work on PSXjin at all where as ePSXe works perfect as long as you dont use version 1.70 which RE2 has problems with.
nice to see someone go into detail about the differences in PAL/NTSC rather then just hearing misinformation, thanks.
Ive had that one myself dchaps when i used to play the PC version. i only had it when i had FMV's enabled.
I just had this soft-lock happen to me on the basement stairs i managed to hit action on the stairs before the camera transition or as it was happening , is this common knowledge?
i was playing on the biohazard 2 NTSC-J PSN version.
controller input i think
Put these into your gameshark/action replay cheat cartridge to defeat the pointless anti-region check:
MASTER CODE:
D0185324 0001
SKIP CHECK:
D01840E2 1040 801840E2 1000
Execute check and pass check (alt code):
D0184394 12F1 80184394 1106 D018481E 1040 8018481E 1000
Remember to start game WITH cheat codes and you should get past that pesky anti region screen.
I personally have to use skip check with master code and it works.
I made this thread as most patcher programs (where you patch a backup ISO) i found were so old they don't work on modern version of windows.
-carc already been doing that the entire time had a save game set up for the ada talking cutscene in the sewer on each version (1.0+1.1) i would go through and test it after i changed something in the registry (FMV's , sound freq , etc)
the only fix i can find for these problems is do a fresh install play game once , uninstall + reinstall and start new run
Im in the same situation as StevenMayte but ive moved onto different versions now , thanks for the advice everyone, hopefully these tips will help fix someone else game.
-uhTrance , dchaps
my tech issues with biohazard 2 sourcenext are back after patching and im just wondering do i need to install the game every time i want to speed run it because it only seems to work as intended on a fresh install otherwise the sound cuts out or the game crashes on the final FMV , i really don't know why this version is recommended at all lol im very tempted to just go back to the PS1/gamecube versions of the game.
